As soon as I heard Tiesto was ending one of his ongoing trademarks.....I knew it was going to be the Magiks. First, he backed out of Gouryella and now this.:mad:
The Magiks (especially #6) were what got me into trance in the first place. Magik 1-6 defines trance for me and now they are dead. It is a sad day indeed for uplifting trance. I'm certain any newer stuff he does will not equal the Magiks. It'll be good stuff of course, but just not the same.
What I DO NOT understand is why he thinks that after 5 they got crappier. HELLO....MAGIK 6 is the best mix album EVER!!! 7 wasn't as good as the rest though.
Well, I'm still looking forward to seeing him in Toronto next Saturday but.....oh, this just sucks. I can't believe it. He could still keep doing the Magiks in that theme and still do other stuff that "fits his newer style" (which isn't as good I think).
Does anybody know where I can hear this interview?

Sad! The Magik series is the reason I'm here in the first place, but what ya gonna do.
This move makes sense, every artist needs to move on, although he still spins Magik-like trance. Tiesto's sets from 2002 have been spicier and more sophisticated than anything he did before. I bet he'll still come up with good mix compilations.
Magik 1 to 7 are in a class of their own. Mixed on live turntables, Tijs gave them a warm feeling and unique blending of class Dutch trance that was unlike all other compilations of their time.
Tranceport, the Armin series, PvD's POD-they're all alright, but none of them have the significance for my life that any of the Magiks have to this day. So farewell Magiks, your spirit will remain alive forever as true masterpieces. |

| Damn, these are CD's ffs. Some people act like their life will end :rolleyes: Ofcourse it's a shame he'll stop the series, but Magik 1 - 7 are not being taken out of the stores or something. You can listen to them anytime you want. Only there won't be a new one. |
