if he has given up on the Magik series, cos he says his sounds do not fit the series, then I am rather worried about what his forhtcoming album is going to be like!

Since he is going more proggy , i do not think his album will be anything like his last, and if it goes to prog then i will not listen to it!

Tiesto, please, KEEP IT REAL! ;)

Originally posted by Mr Game+Watch I dunno, lately the GU's seem to go overboard with the progressive style; the oldest GU's explored a variety of different styles (hell, in his pre-sellout days, Oakey had some D&B on his!), but now it seems straight up prog house and prog trance.

You didn't listen to GU 23 too carefully, did you?

...

Well, I'm still looking forward to seeing him in Toronto next Saturday but.....oh, this just sucks. I can't believe it. He could still keep doing the Magiks in that theme and still do other stuff that "fits his newer style" (which isn't as good I think).

Well, if he doesn't like the concept anymore, or doesn't spin music that fits in the concept anymore, he should quit with it.

And besides that, it's only a name.. he'll probably come up with something new..

Tiesto just isn't trance anymore.

I think if his recent mixes are anything to go by, his next album will be awful.

ahh indeed that is crap that tijs is leavin magik series

maybe its for the best if he made a magik now it would prolly b diff from the rest and not posses the qualities that the others do

not saying tiesto has gotten worse but i doubt that with the current path his got he can bring out the same feeling that magik 2 - 4 and 6 gave me.... thats jus my opinion.

*sigh*

A few of you have touched on this, but in general, most people just don't seem to get it. Have any of you been to see Tiesto spin live lately? His style HAS changed. He's not the same Magikal Tiesto he used to be. He definately has a techno/tech-trance thing going now, which you might immediately say ohhh god that sucks, but its actually pretty cool, and it appeals to a wider audience of electronic music fans. Of course he still drops a good ole uplifiting bomb in his sets like "Flesh" or "Magik Journey" but all in all he's not the same as he used to be, so he doesn't feel its proper to make another album in that genre.

It makes complete sense to me.

What's gonna be next?

1) Tiesto no longer available to collaborate with Corsten on their 1999 trademark of Gouryella. Progillusions has taken the next step of the diety Tijs.

2) Armin Van Buuren's decision to call it quits on Holland's highest Trance Frequency - A State of Trance Radio Shows and his top-selling, chart-topping State of Trance compilations..

3) Judge Jules buys a new speck of taiwan made UDG bags, quarrels with HTFR over picture on their latest catalog, call it quits with Image Marketing.

Who cares, nothing lasts forever....if you missed the times of Magik series, put in the CD and reminisce....that's about it....people accomodate to changes all the time, live with it and don't feel so sorry for anything as who the hell would care what you think...we are living in a society driven by Capitalism....money talks and that's it...

I think he'll come up with a new series within some time.. keep this in mind.

The Magik series supposed to have a timeless attitude.....
The songs produced knowdays doesn't seem to fit this thought, so end of the series!!!!

Seems a resonable descision to me........
