Tiësto's Magik series officially over (pg. 5)

Tiesto said in one interview of his that he'd never do a GU cuz his sound just doesn't fit in.. I dunno, lately the GU's seem to go overboard with the progressive style; the oldest GU's explored a variety of different styles (hell, in his pre-sellout days, Oakey had some D&B on his!), but now it seems straight up prog house and prog trance.
Sucks about the Magik series being cancelled.. I don't quite see why everybody was disappointed with #7... "People Want To Be Needed", "Sunset On Ibiza", "Open Your Eyes", "Flesh", "Strange World", "Flight 643", and "Moonshine" are all excellent tracks! I've only heard Magik 4, 5 and 7, I can honestly say I like 7 a lot better than 4 or 5. |

yeah i cant figure out why everyone dislikes Magik 7 so much... I loved every bit of it... and the Revolution Mix, was a UK only release that was released a month before Magik 7 and was meant to be a preview of Magik 7. So dont compare the two anymore... I treasure the whole Magik series personally, I got started on 4 and 5, and I was hooked. about a year ago I finally went and bought the rest. Every single one of them is great. Its not just the name Magik, its the style of those mixes, those purely epic and uplifting moments when you almost thought that you would leave your body. Its like him leaving gouryella, its not just tiesto, and its not just tiesto and ferry together, its the style that ferry and tiesto put together to make gouryella. these will all be missed...
however, maybe tiesto is just trying to prove how great he is by raising the bar higher and higher. maybe i can look as this as a challenege for him... or maybe he is just getting to famous, who knows....

Hello Mr 13 year old kid (not quite sure physically or mentally, but whichever)... If you call people "idiots" and "ignorant" by the fact that their opinion was divergent with yours, you lower yourself beneath the "titles" you gave me.. Way to blow. :p

Hmm.. I think you're right, and I mixed up crap.. It's been a while since I listened to any of Magiks... Confiteor, mea culpa, etc etc... I take my *yawn* back... :)
Even though my favorite Magik disc was the third, I think (i fmemory doesn't deceives me again)... |

to be honest. i'm actually kind of glad. i loved the series don't get me wrong, but atleast it won't be overdone. we have some good ones from the series, and it'll always be there for us. it can no longer get "bad." because it was great while it lasted.

I don't understand why he would just say "bah...I'm not doing it anymore." especially since he said he was working on it as of this time last year in 2001. YOU LIAR TIESTO!!!!!
Well, whatever....I still think he should have made Magik 8 the last one if he really wanted the series to be over! There are plenty of uplifting tunes out there that could fit the Magik series theme...he'd just have to work harder. Leaving the Series on the far inferior Magik 7 (compared to 1-6) is a mistake. AT LEAST END WHAT MADE YOU KING WITH A BANG TIJS!
I'll give his new stuff a shot but if it's anything like ISOS3 (save a few cool tunes on there), Tiesto will just fade away to Oakeyland. |
