A huge cancer research conference has been cancelled. I personally, am not at all surprised that PVD has cancelled as well ! |
The cancer conference thingy was cancelled with very good reason though. All these doctors are at potential risk to get exposed. Albeit not harmful to them, but they're all going back home and they'd be exposing it to all of their cancer patients with damaged immune systems from kemo and whatnot. Smart move imho.
And about pvd...
its amazing how much power the media has and how quick people are to believe whatever they're fed. |

with all due respect, several 'big' dj's are becomming a bit picky & choosy with attitudes.
I Understand Sars is a threat, but how big is it really, if most cases are quarantined then you should carry on as normal, you have more chance of being run over or choking on some food.
Paul & his management agreed a 3 hour set in one of Englands 'smaller' clubs Passion, and on the night turned up & decided only to play 2 hours 10 minutes. Paul Oakenfold rarely plays in the UK now since 1999, and even Ferry himself said about Tiesto "He's just too busy being number 1" so imo that means that some of them are maybe a bit too big for their boots, and there are guys who will be bigger, Matt Hardwick, Jon O'Bir, Petrae Foy, you might not know the names yet, but these guys are on the up & have great attitudes to fans, and thats something I'd take anyday over someone who doesn't honour everything & cancels with small notice.
Hope you can see my reasons here, Personally, I'd take the risk, if I died then so be it, my time would be up, but as in Final Destination, you can't go around trying to avoid death, it will come find you ;) |

to pvd's defence...
i just checked his tour schedule and if he played the toronto gig that would've been his 11th gig in 12 days
i don't blame him for backing out
he would be in a prime state to be really suseptable to getting sick
i mean if you guys REALLY wanan see him, he'll be playing in montreal and new york the same weekend... |
|

| i would go to montreal but that's one helluva busy week....3 exams in 2 days...sighs...pvd's gig worked out in my schedule....oh well....such is life...i'll get over it...tho...any promoters......BRING JEFF MILLS TO TORONTO! |

These guys are only human. They can only be at so many places in a certain amount of time. I don't think its a matter of them not caring.
If they didn't care, they wouldn't be voted number 1 by the people.
But think about it from their viewpoint. You have to choose between playing 2 gigs. one has 500 people the other has 3000 people. By playing the bigger gig, you reach more of your fans, and from a business standpoint you'd probably make more money. Its only commonsense.
I don't know who Ferry is to be saying stuff about Tiesto considering it was Ferry who didn't show up to ...2 or 3 gigs he had in toronto...in a row! Man he had a bad reputation because of that haha
I just find people are too quick to jump all over DJs when most of the time all the facts aren't known to anyone, except the DJ and their publicist.
And you're telling me you would risk death to please 1500 of your millions of fans? I sure as hell wouldn't when I could avoid the whole situation by just postponing the date. He's living the life most of us can only begin to dream about. Its not worth it for him to jeopordize that. (in my opinion at least) |
