These guys are only human. They can only be at so many places in a certain amount of time. I don't think its a matter of them not caring.
If they didn't care, they wouldn't be voted number 1 by the people.
But think about it from their viewpoint. You have to choose between playing 2 gigs. one has 500 people the other has 3000 people. By playing the bigger gig, you reach more of your fans, and from a business standpoint you'd probably make more money. Its only commonsense.
I don't know who Ferry is to be saying stuff about Tiesto considering it was Ferry who didn't show up to ...2 or 3 gigs he had in toronto...in a row! Man he had a bad reputation because of that haha
I just find people are too quick to jump all over DJs when most of the time all the facts aren't known to anyone, except the DJ and their publicist.
And you're telling me you would risk death to please 1500 of your millions of fans? I sure as hell wouldn't when I could avoid the whole situation by just postponing the date. He's living the life most of us can only begin to dream about. Its not worth it for him to jeopordize that. (in my opinion at least) |
The ferry comment was in refferral to Tijs & Gouryella, Ferry expects them to make more tunes inthe future, but thinks he's doing the 'number one' thing so far.
I didn't know about Ferry missing gigs in Canada, but I do know he's great over here in England, playing loads of gigs but also spending the rest of the night with the people. At one crasher, Armin danced with the ukta's and Paul just walked out & looked uninterested, so I dunno, maybe it's how they come across, but Obviously the only guy who knows about this situation is Paul himself, to make the decision, Most DJs are totally commited, some like Tony De Vit, pay a sad price for everything with an early death, maybe he didnt watch his health as he should, but I originally posted cos I thought the comments aimed at tta for calling paul etc primadonas were unjust, as He backed his reasoning up. |

When did it happen that Ferry did not come to his gigs in Toronto? |
it was like 2 or 3 years ago
i remember he didn't show up at a gig he had at atlantis, and then another at the guv
i can't remember the exact details...but there were a lot of pissed off people to say the least :p |

to pvd's defence...
i just checked his tour schedule and if he played the toronto gig that would've been his 11th gig in 12 days
|
just to put my perspective on this, surely Paul knew he'd have so many gigs to play, in the last 6 weeks he's done Australia & toured the UK with not much time inbetween, so maybe he needs to plan better, give himself a rest, I'm sure everyone wants DJs at their best, and not half assed, which if he's playing so many gigs, could happen as he'd be susceptible to fatigue etc, maybe food for thought for the DJs ? |

oh don't get me wrong
ferry is great
i was just trying to put it into perspective that most likely every major dj out there has had to cancel a few gigs because of some reason or another |

As pissed off as I am right now, I really can't blame PvD for it.
If you're going to blame anyone, blame the ing Toronto Star. All this ing media hype over everything, and look what happens, nobody has a clue what's really going on, everyone is confused and paranoid.
Ah well... I wonder if I can make it to Armin on the 17th, assuming he doesn't CANCEL... |

well i dont see why anyone should be blaming anyone in the first place..if u gotta blame something, blame mother nature for having bacteria & viruses that adapt to antibiotics and just get worse as time goes on....
all of u who are pissed off and think pvd is a sellout, think about this:
if he were to come, and someone who shouldve been in quarantine, but couldnt bare to miss pvd for the world came for the event, he/she would transmit the disease to everyone in the crowd (or most of those in the crowd) and/or even pvd if the person was "hardcore" and would run up to the booth to get an autograph or something |

You have just turned yourself into a tool of the media.
Thank you, carry on spreading fear and misinformation.

Is this true? After hearing THAT I'd have been worried too.
Wankers. The last thing we need is more fuel for the media. |
