Personally, I'm not a prog head at all, but all uplifting goes nowhere. You need to keep the crowd guessing and PvD has been doing that his entire career. He builds you up and brings you down, then he builds you up a bit more and drops you a bit. He does this throughout the night until finally his last 2 hours are basically heart stopping uplifting trance. A perfect example of this was Factory. His last 2 hours there was amazing. His last 2 hours at Roxy in November were amazing too, as were his last 2 hours at Roxy in Feb. The funny thing here is that a lot of people complain about what he plays, but 100% of the time, those people are standing in front of the booth at every PvD show cheering like its their 1st time seeing him lol

Lamb - Gorecki is one of my favorite prog songs of all time. That is one of the few exceptions to PVDs prog list. I went searching for that one ever since it was played at the beginning of "I Know What You Did Last Summer"

Another thing that sucks is pvd's new style. Scratchy dark progressive. Its not even good progressive. He starts with some trance ex. Solar stone, Inca, nu nrg stuff, then drops it down a lot into La La land, Dark beat, and some Liebing mix of whatever. Then throws in some trance ... words..... then ends it with Nothing but you. ehhh I think he has fallen from his thrown a bit. Maybe I feel this way because I’ve seen him nine times in the past four years.

He is playing lately bottom line .. Daft punk is another one he dropped in his essential mix set a few days ago

Dedacated To RubyRiva & Starfox" ;)

i seriouly think youve seen pvd too many times. . . .nothing can compare to the first time you saw the man live.

I personally thought that the pvd club mix of NBY was well put together and had nice elements to it added... and sounded alot cleaner and in position, the rip version sounded just full of energy and kinda messy and didnt have all da little elements that the release version had. I think Paul is without question an amazing musician all around with his dj'ing skills and production skills. And i think he knows what he's doing. I dont see whats so horrible about NBY...

He rocked the first time i saw him at twilo. I waited outside for 5 hours and when I walked in he dropped Underworld born Slippy . Twilo had the whole club lit up in red and when the song breaks and gets hard they turned on that huge circular neon light....

hmmmmm the first time

OMG some of you people really sound like his PR agents!?!

This guy is just another dj, I can't really believe he is this popular!! Is everyone here high?

And talking about bad temper, omg, and I tought Sasha had a bad personnality... he ain't against PVD.

His cd skips and he just snapped and lost it, he was so ing mad, I could not believe my eyes:nervous: :nervous: :nervous: he start bitching at the equipment and the staff. I was there in the booth and could not believe my eyes. Never a dj had acted such childishly at a stupid scratched cd.

Djs work with equipment, its their tools, and sometimes you know, tools fail, its part of the job, get over it!!!

PVD = Grade 1 loser.

come on, it's not like he was spinning at some random club. This was Ultra. That's a damn big event in the US. I am sure he was just upset at the moment...I was upset FOR him. He wanted to close the night with a flawless set and it didn't work. So he unleashed his frustration on the staff...unfair maybe but not a big deal. We have all done that.

Then again, i don't know PvD. But I just can't see him as being a jerk. Stressed at times, for sure, but "loser"..wow, that's harsh.

But the mixes that got a full-release on vinyl all SUCK HORRIBLY!

I'm still at a loss as to why everyone is so dissapointed with the 'Nothing But You" release. He only did two things:

1) Add some more depth to the middle section of the song, the part between the two major build-ups, and

2) Added one little noise in the beginning of the tune that really don't make any difference one way or another to the song.

Other than those two things, the song is EXACTLY the same. I think you guys are all dissapointed because PvD said he would change the song to make it better, and then his changes ended up not making a difference. The changes made definitely did not take away from the song. just jack it upt to +5 or so and it will sound just as good as it does in the PvD sets.

Well........

1) The reason he is an amazing dj isn't b/c he throw's down 1 Sick set for you on any paticular night, its because he is consistent.

2) yes he ed up big time by walking off and ruined your night but that doesn't make him a loser. Why would he want to spin on ty equitment.

point= Do not judge us human beings on what we've done in the moment

Judge us on what we have done countless times before and our conistency. It easy do say you hate someone after 1 bad night but go see him 3 or 4 more times and im sure he'll make up for this mistake.
