No words can describe how incredible that party was. Armin is a god, koolhuas is the greatest venue in the world, and there were more than enough hot girl dancers to keep you dancing all ing nite.

| Armin was just incredible and did not dissapoint me at all. In my opinion, he is the #1 Trance DJ in the world, bar none!!! Kool Huas as a venue could use a little work regaring sound fields and projection, but overall, way, way better then The Guv. I love how KH empties a bit so we can dance our asses off after the prog heads leave. The vibe last night was just awesome, simply a great mix of peeps, music, and everything else. I have been looking forward to this event for the past 3 months and Armin deleivered 100%. When it comes to hyping the crowd, I don't know of anyone better than Armin and ferry. Thanks to everyone last night who made it what it was and to my buddy who posted earlier, I am finally so happy you have come over to the trance side, life just gets better with the amazing dj's,music and crowd!! It has taken me over 2 painstaking years to convinve him to come and experience what I talk about all the time and after last night, he has become a different person, he has fallen in love wiht trance..............I guess the big thanks goes to Armin for bringing it out, well maybe it was the....... |

Kool Haus was so welcoming and Armin conversed with my heart.
I boogied hard and saw some of my favourite TA's.

And now time for the showcase revue:
First off got to the party real late .. rounds 1pm ish with Endlesswave, and HardcoreTrancer.. saw Itikia outside. At this point the lineup wasn't too bad at all. We got inside in about 15 minutes..
Music
Progressive
Wow, what can I saw.. Steve Lawler really tore that place up. When we got inside he was the first person we saw spinning on the decks of the Koolhaus. Very very diiiiiirty ill beats and dark hard and bouncy. Makes me wish I hadn't missed Hernan Catanneo the week before but ah exams what can ya do..
Anyways, Lawler in my mind played a great set. He really got everyone moving and the vibe was just bursting. The lighting setup and decor really made it feel a lot bigger. I definately like it a lot better when DJ's play on that side of the room. Too bad they didn't go with the center setup like they did for Deep Dish last year at Labour of Love. That format really reminds me of Sensation in Amsterdam. Props go out to whoever posted that video of Steve Lawler on the boards a few days ago. Watching that gave me a nice backdrop of the man..
It's too bad we didn't get there earlier to see him start his set off. I'm sure he'll be back again tho.
Jungle / Drum & Bass
This was the first time I had ever seen Dilinja & Lemon D go live even after hearing countless tracks produced by them. What can I say? Again the beats were just ill beyond recognition. The Orange Room was simply smashed up and the place seemed bigger than usual. The beats being thrown down were heavy and the basslines smooth. As Ezekiel_D3 said, the rewinds were kept to a minimum which is a big plus. Partying it up in the Orange Room with the TA junglists was definately one of the highlights of my night. Even saw the progheads TranceGeek and Brunette trying to get into the groove.. bigups! The energy inside that part of the building is NEVER lacking on an open access nite. I'm glad that Guv management mixes it up during Goldclub events like this. The kind of variety really brings back memories of the oldschool days of BLC parties.. one nation, one scene.
Trance
My 2nd time seeing Armin ever and my much self-awaited return to the Guv/KH after a really bad incident there were my ex-GF last Sept. I could really feel the vibe this time around esp. with the much reduced overpacking this time around. Armin's set was nothing but special. Although a lot of it was what I had expected. With Armin Van Buuren, one really needs to expect that type of "hands in the air" anthemic type of trance. It's definately his style. I noticed that this is very similar to the way that Ferry started off in his DJ'ing career. What I noticed that's different between Armin and guys like PVD, or even Tiesto to some extent is that the latter seems to take you on a journey with their sets, whereas the former gives you that up in the face fist pumping type of vibe. Not to say that there's anything wrong with it, but it's just a certain style that some may find more appealing than others. All in all it was still a great set and really got the crowd moving. I told Endlesswave at one point in the night that I really dub Armin as "the people's DJ". He's one of those guys that really makes it a point to connect with the crowd on a personal level. And when you see the DJ having so much fun up there on the decks it really makes you wanna have a good time as well. The moment he got on, I could see a mass wave of people just pour into the Koolhaus toward the front of the stage, it was unbelieveable. Him finishing off the nite with his signature track Communication was nothing short of fitting.

Time2Burn - as usual, you make the party. A TA party is never a TA party without the TA beacon.

Loconet - Only saw you briefly this nite, but glad you could make it out. Didn't see the rest of ur crew tho..

Hansolo - Good thing we bumped into each other, you guys were totally going crazy in the middle of the crowd!

Highlight of the nite: Moving from the Koolhaus into the Orange Room with Endlesswave and weaving through the crowd ending up walking into this HUGE ring of ripped, shirtless gay guys! We were both trapped in a fortress of what was literally a grindfest! Luckily I saw an openning and in a split second I slipped through without being bumped. Unfortunately, circumstances for Endlesswave were a tad different..
Downside of the nite: The 2 "blow my whistle" man-bitches up in the Ibiza corners of the Goldclub lounge, blowing their whistles to almost every track that was dropped during Armin's set.. during rifts, basslines, breakdowns.. !! accck... i was gonna go crazy!! :whip:
Overall
Another great party. The vibe was in full effect, the TA massives were everywhere. And the gayness didn't bother me as much (good thing I'm not ripped like you HardcoreTrancer!) :D
Glad I could make it out and party it up with all you guys again. You definately all made my return to the Guv/KH a great one and helped me to forget about troubles that happened there in the past. It's too bad we won't be able to party it up at Viva this weekend with PVD, but Armin dropping PVD - For An Angel really made it feel special given the current circumstances. But in the end, the music doesn't just make the party, it's the people you party it up with. |

I must admit Kool Haus had an awesome setup and those projection screens just put it over the top - not to mention all the hotties dancing at the back in that Goldclub stage...
Caught the tail end of Lawler's set.. it was better than I expected with some edgier tribal sounds, the Byork track kinda caught me offguard cuz I was enjoying what was on before that, but whatever :)
Armin stayed true to the trance sound and thats all you heard most of the night... I left at 8am because my legs couldn't take it anymore and I was pissed I didn't hear him play Communication or Blue Fear - (if he played either of those after I left I don't wanna know).
Shoutout to all the TAs from last night: Charmscars & Crew, Time2burn, Brunette, RabbitJoker, Hansolo, Desidel, Malice, Heatscore, Endlesswave, Articboy, Maxtuh, Loconet, sooper and a few others I'm forgetting
..also..I agree there were a few too many guys in attendance.. and one of em was staring down my buddy... it was hilarious.. though he didn't agree.. haha |

Hey guys, hehe this is my first post on here, but I read these forums often for info and tracks and just to catch up on the scene..
I'll just start by saying that you guys are all wicked..

Omg last night was such a wicked party ... was awesome awesome awesome... Personally there was not one disappointment in the music of the groove for me last night.. the only problem (as most people have mentioned) was that goddamn coatcheck.. oh lord lol...
Otherwise.. AVB RULESSSSSSSSSS.. that was some insane fun ^_^
Just a question guys.. does anyone have any pictures of the night in general? of like the place itself or the crowd? I was going to bring my camera but I was sort of afraid of losing it so I wouldn't mind seeing some pictures =)
Anyway, had a total good time, and I'm sure the rest of you that came out did too !! |
