when i did get my decks on the very second day surprisingly i had a knowledge of how to mix including the secrets of DJing....

yeh, 1 minute a day for 1 week then i was able to mix flawless...

it's all true, basically 1 mintue is more like 1 mix a day. As i said as soon as the beat is matched i just push the vinyl forward to the final breakdown and try getting the cue and beat right. i'm obviouly gonna try to mix for longer, but since my neighbour is taking me to court im gonna start doing a deal to move her away from and to put ANY young person there.:haha: :nervous:

i do the exact thing, which is just usually chuck down a track (beat match it in about 30 seconds) move it to the breakdown and start the transisition. If the transition is 1 phrase in length(32 beats or around 13 seconds) it means that the maximum time it takes me to mix 4 tracks together is around 52 seconds. thats exactly 8 seconds less time a day then you spend mixing.

Usually about 1 hour a day, maybe more on weekends, as much as I can in the holidays.

Your soooooo lucky that your neighbours don't complain, and i does suck when learning Djing the hardway....but i guess that is kind of a accomplishment really, i'm just glad now that i didn't seek help.

yeah it would be cool to be able to ask a mate over for a mix every now and then.. pass on tips n tricks etc etc

oh well..

yeah im glad i learnt on my own, however.. a bit of help would have saved alot of frustration :P

True, but now you know all the Dj secrets, don't you think you made right choice...i mean say you start mixing like PVD one day, you'd rather think to your self that "i done this all by myself"..rather than "I done this all with help"....it's self-accomplishment.

Oh well..just my opinion.
MichaelDudikoff
what are 'dj secrets'?

really, i'd like to know (despite the fact that i'm not a dj and telling me would then make these secrets cease to be as such)
