I mean..how do you all go from one track to another?? There a various ways of doing it...do you use the volume control..or the EQ's..switching the bass across...

I generally use volume controls, i find them alot more accurate than crossfader, however I do move my crossfader across to the side thats playing, incase i leave the level up or something or there is a 2nd track on 12" or something. I think Tranceboy said it before . . it really depends on what kinda tracks, if something has a massive bassline you cant just kinda fade it over, itll sounds dodge, you hammer it in.

I have just realised once again that I PLay trance like a techno dj:nervous:

I have just noticed a lot of trance DJ's PLay the same way that you do :)

I PLay a bit differently..thats all :)

(Dude you sound seriously gifted if your PLaying big gigs at 15:) )

How i understand it;

Trance djs are more "fluid" and gradually bring in tracks.

Techno djs are more "cutting" and tend to jump from track to track. (and back again)

but its good to use both.....

Lol im actually 16, 17 in June (ONLY 1 more year! OMG), i just play that way cause I like the way it sounds.

Gumble I reckon both ways are awsome, cutting in techno tracks etc rocks, its good to cut trance sometimes too, after big builds etc, (after main tuneage of course!)

But I mainly mix prog(also trance, dont worry I dont hate trance i love it!), so you mainly mix gradually, try and make it as descreet as you can, so people dont een know track has changed. Love that.

I never use the channel faders during a transistion (except when a track was recorded at a naturally higher volumn, then i want that track to have the same volumn as the other track, i might turn the channel down so there both equal in volumn)

take for example in you're latest mix. the transistion between :
DJ Albert vs. Precision - say yes (Silent mix) - Sun Decade - Im alone (Ronksi Speed Mix)

Sun decade Had a slightly too high channel volumn when you brought it in (nothing major)
and then you basically had the bass cut, and then you opend it.....FARRRK :eyespop:

i dont know where the post is for my ty transistions? :conf:

anway. i only use the crossfader. never the channel faders :)

GelatinPuff I think u may have me konfused with Julian Reynolds...maybe....

...with the mixing thing...do any of you guys ever isolate different instruments..eg hi hats and bring them in swiftly...then slowly morph tracks just using the eq's?

If I am sounding like a showoff or a wanker...PLees tell me..I dont wanna...I am just interested)
