And if you really want to talk restrictions....NO WESTERN nation would accept Jews after the Holocaust and even DURING WW2! That includes England, USA, France and even Canada. We basically all just said NO to them but to be fair....the general public in the west didn't really know the full extent of Jewish persecution. If the UN had just followed Britain's original plan, I doubt we'd have as much trouble as we do in Israel these days. But that's what happens when the Americans stick their stupid noses in and interfere.
Oh...I still haven't taken either side here..I'm just pointing out the facts. |

And considering he's just pointing out the facts, I'm seeing a lot of speculation, and not a lot of facts.
Smitty, I find your posts extremely anti-semitic (not to mention pompous) and I am offended by them. Just thought I'd let you know. Cyrus King and Hardcore Trancer also have viewpoints that conflict with mine, but they seem to have ways of expressing their opinions without insulting anyone - perhaps you should follow their examples. |

The National Post is a PIECE OF newspaper that is so biased towards the US/Isreal its not even funny. Im not surprised that an article such as the one you linked to would be found in that newspaper.
Anyways this is an AMUSING thread.

Come on man....I'm being anti-semetic because I'm telling the flip side of terrorism as it pertains to Israel? Israel became a nation due in part to extremist terrorism conducted by Jews and now their biggest internal security concern is terrorism...I find it to be ironic. I'm not anti-semetic.....if anything you could call me anti-Middle Eastern (not Arabs as individuals) because I have a lot of problems with their politics and customs...their extreme religious beliefs for one, but that's not the issue here. The Jews have been on their whole existence as a people and it's quite tragic in my opinion. Israel is the Jewish homeland and I'm not denying that. They have a right to be there....but so do the Palestinians.....where else would you propose over 1 million of them go? I just wish the two sides could have a cease fire....but you know, it probably will never happen. If you may remember....I'm often gone off about the Germans. I have some problems with them as well...part of that is the Holocaust and WW2. I'm good friends with two Israeli guys from Western too. Once in awhile we talk politics...I express my views about their government and right wing conservative sects and THEY aren't offended....why are you?
The basic facts are that Jewish settlers are encroaching upon lands given to Arabs...the response to this is suicide terrorist tactics, to which Israelis respond with 10x the amount of force on innocent people who just happen to live in "suspected terrorist areas." No wonder the CBC makes the Israeli government out to be the bad guys..... :rolleyes: Both sides hate each other and until they let go of that hate, the carnage will just continue. But i can't stand ignorant people who say one side is CLEARLY right and the other CLEARLY wrong. |

I get concerned about distortion of facts so that people can use it to talk propaganda. As a dedicated student in history, I like to point out (with a vengence sometimes) the way things really are. I wrote a paper on this and have read many articles and books dealing with this subject area. |

I hope you mean that the NP has a PRO bias toward the US and Israel, because it's so obviously right wing! This is exactly what I'm talking about....the article complains that the CBC won't refer to the Palestinian terrorists AS terrorists (which of course they are). But does the article condemn what the Israeli military does in response to terrorist attacks? Nope...and not criticising the murder of innocent people (firing rockets in civilian areas, bulldozing homes, pounding neighbourhoods with tank shells, etc) is really indicative of the type of ty newspaper that the NP is. |

People are always entitled to their own political views. As I already stated, I'm always willing to listen to and accept other people's political viewpoints.
Unless they are completely narrowminded, offensive, and insist that their viewpoint should also be everyone else's. When I referred to you as anti-semitic, I was not only talking about your posts in this thread, but also in others, such as: I got my tickets from Ticket Jews....I mean Ticketmaster - as I recall, you were actually warned about that, but instead of apologizing for the ignorant comment, you proceeded to militantly defend yourself by throwing out even more negative stereotypes.

see....that was a JOKE....you know...A JOKE!!!! I already went over this, but I wouldn't take offence to a harmless joke like that. My background is English...would I get mad if someone called me a limey or said that I have bad teeth or said that I was a snot? Nope...because you know...after centuries of race and sex jokes, you'd think that people would just laugh stuff like that off instead of calling me a Nazi.:rolleyes:
So I guess we can't make fun of blondes either.....or we can't poke fun about how dumb the Americans are on shows like "TALKING TO AMERICANS"? Shows like Saturday Night Live and Mad TV, all the late night talk shows make racial and sexual inuendons ALL THE TIME.....get off your high horse and learn to take a ing joke. If it were up to you, half the people alive would be in jail for making little cracks like that once in awhile. |
