Why is Toronto trance scene so different from Montreal and Europe ?? (pg. 5)

dont talk abt hip hop when u have never even really listened to it or understand it fully...thats just being in ignorant....and theres a difference betweeen rap and underground rap okay...underground rap is from people who havent been signed yet hence underground, or have been signed by smalll labels and have not been recognized yet...
and im sorry for saying this i love trance ive been banging to trance since late 90's but hip hop is the best in clubs imo... its more of an interactive music in clubs then trance is...when i go to trance parties everyone is dancing by themselves and half of em are ed up off of drugs trippin not knowing whats going on...and the only real dancing interaction u see is when one crackhead comes up to another and tries to make the other one trip out even harder by giving a light show...sorry but i think toronto is a lil too urban for that scene...the music is amazing i love it...clubbing to it is kinda lame and boring...but thats just me..maybe u guys like that sort of thing but me i like dancing with girls being very interactive and having less crackheads walking into pillars... |

do you think it could have something to do with the excessive amounts of clubs we have in toronto? i think we have way too many and if we cut out 60% of them, trance could make a nice big comeback with one location and less competition (i.e no cover, cheap drinks, etc)
as for the drugs situation and how drugs are looked upon as "bad" i'd fall under that catagory.. i'm one of those anti drug people who doesn't have a good time at a club next to some dude whacked out on something (granted i'll still go dance, and have a good time) but i try and stay away the huge group of old asians busting it up with some E..
as well for the girls.. well maybe they don't know there's a trance party going on!!! :happy2:
P.S sometimes you might just get what you ask for... think about this scenario...
Viva is all ages.. great music, great lighting.. not alot of ladies...
all of a sudden you get lots of ladies out and it's now filled iwth great music & great women... some gino finds out about it (17 year old gino at that) and viva becomes the new "goddess night club"
would you still be thankful for those women with a bunch of little teeny boppers running around the club, causing fights, etc, interupting your good time you have now??? |

trance needs alot more radio play... all we have is 50 cent and Beyonce... and that's all the younger people are going to listen to...
how the scene got so dominated by asians is a mystery heh.. excuse the sterotype but ive noticed alot of asians prefer to chill with other asians.. the scene is somewhat exclusive for them i dunno.. i dont think its fair to make comments about asians on E tho, come on, every 'type' of person uses it at parties, no need to be insulting... btw, where are black people in the scene?? come out and show support! LOL
its also funny how more guys like trance than girls, i mean, it does sound somewhat like dance tunes they love, and i cant say how many times people who've never heard trance before call it girls music when they hear me playing it.. whatever, i catch them listening to it later on :) |

| also noticed that its really rare to have a pure trance night here... there used to be clubs that would go trance from 10->6 or 8, but now even when there's a big trance dj youll only get a few hours of trance and a mix of other stuff mostly house |

I've said this before, but I'm glad trance isn't mainstream here.
Seriously, I like the scene the way it is. I would pissed if I went to school in September, and everybody was walking around listening to Armin van Buuren, Mark Oliver, Mauro Picotto, etc.
Imagine the tards that would start coming to events and .
I would rather have a small group of people who know and appreciate the music, over a bunch of mainstream attention, and high school kids listening to trance because MuchMusic or MTV told them to. |

Sorry, but my friend tried to get me in to hip hop with some 2pac. I am pretty open to most music, but I just don't get hip hop. If you can find a decent hip hop song with soul and meaning, then by all means give me a title.
I just feel that trance has way more soul and emotion than ANY hip hop. Messages and soul is in the MUSIC, not the lyrics, anyone can mash a bunch of words together. If I want messages through words, I'll read a book. |

I'm being ignorant because I can't stand hip hop and rap? I think being converted to trance and electronica is being very open minded. I like a lot of other genres, including classical music, big band swing music from the 1940's, classic rock (Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin, etc), a lot of 80's Pop and Rock(big M.J. and INXS fan), Retro stuff (The Talking Heads). I even had my time with Oasis, Green Day, the Smashing Pumpkins in the mid 90's. And get this....I still like the older rap from the late 80's and early 90's....the stuff from Jam Master J and Dj Jazzy Jeff. Even stuff like Insane in the Membrane and Jump Around is loads better than the ing rap/hip hop now. What I'm saying is....Top40 music NOWADAYS, as well as most forms of rap and hip hop...shall I say black music.....is just pure trash. |

ummm, wtf? I don't consider that racist at all. Hip hop is a genre dominated by black people. The music just doesn't reflect my feelings, my culture and lifestyle. Just not my thing. |

Um...you know, we REALLY do have to settle down over Political Correctness around here. Yes....rap and hip hop over the last 5-10ears is pretty much the current form of "African-American" music. And yes.... I absolutely HATE the image of hip hop and rap. It's all about money, guns, cars and bitches. They way they dress, the way they talk, the way they get in trouble with the law and who knows what else DRIVES ME INSANE! How often do you see Tiesto getting arrested for murdering a rival Dj? Not too often...but it happens to rappers all the time. Some of them carry guns for 's sake. They're all a bunch of idiots....and the image they portray is NOT a good one. I'd account rap and hip hop for a reason why younger kids are such punks these days.
