swamper has permission to share those mp3s
and the point is, yes, we all download mp3s
but we're not 'in your face' about it, that's the difference. |

All of the singles that are shared have been given approval by the artist to be shared.
The live sets are a different matter. |

| its impossible to listen to non cheese trance unless you get mp3s in america, or go to an event, but why would anyone go to an event if they don't know what trance sounds like? |

i just find it funny that people join these boards and ask us for downloading sources. this is a discussion board not a leeching board. i certainly wouldnt go into the supermarket and ask employee's for free food. be logical people this community does not support file sharing just go buy your damn music - and if the RIAA is trying to sabotage us - please dont even look at tranceaddict.com we are an EDM Community (electronic dance music) not a filesharing network! Most people of this community are artist in themselves.
Feel free to discuss and refrain from FLAMING - DISCUSS THE TOPIC
No one in particular or maybe one group in particular who pertain to this topic - point blank!
Remember opinons are like s, everyone has one. Please keep the discussion REAL and informative. As a community we should only grow. |
Uhm , you are kinda wrong here, i got 400 tapes and i d/l all of them from the net , but you can not buy any of them on cds.
Can you buy any live set from the Inercity, Mayvday,State of trance cds at the store? |

If there were some sort of pinned thread in the forum I think the number of people asking about it would be very low... I think its extremely twatty how some people act towards new members when they have no way of knowing they are doing anything wrong. Its not so long ago there was a pinned thread in the chillout section offering help for the EMC hub members.
I think its an excuse for people to feel big, and its completely out of order |
Now THAT was well said! I personally support file-sharing - I don't care if others don't - and it kinda sickens me to see some very senior TA's behave like holier-than-thou RIAA stooges! :whip: |

Another very simple but very valid point missed by some of the narrow minds on this forum. :toocool: |

Do you mind if I ask - how are they suppose to know that you do not support file sharing when they are new, if they aren't told? |

I'd say, for starters, you're all paranoid. With the possible exception of really big artists, most edm producers don't even belong to an RIAA based label. So, basically, the RIAA has no right to file copyright infringement charges.
Secondly, time aswell as postcount as axioms for seniority/knowledge is just plain "stoopid" methodology. I know there are people who have never posted on these boards that know a hell of a lot more than me about electronica, but I have 500+ post count so that makes me "the man in charge" . While said new users aren't of the "I know everything about electronica" variety, that isn't largely relevant.
If it's really a big deal that you might get "leeched" by a new user, then create you're own bloody hub and exclude newbies from it. It isn't like essentials is some big huge dirty secret. I think it's a public hub for chrissake (listed on hublists...)
Thirdly, and finally, most of you belong to the double standard group. Oh, it's okay to dl tracks because I have dumped a huge amount of money on decks, mixer, monitors, etc. so i can spin.
Have you ever thought maybe somebody heard a set and liked it, and just wanted to hear more of the music? No, that would be too simple.
They are obviously
M#THR FUKCIN N00B LEECHIN BASTERDS THAT ARE RUINING "THE SCENE" WITH THEIR L33T CHEESING TACTICS.
Either condemn the activity or support it in it's hideous entirity...
  |

well, some do belong and that's enough reasons for them (for an example, i'm not sure of this, but big artists like Tiesto who is signed to a dutch label, have their albums being released also in the USA, so i guess RIAA protects them as well). taking a little bit caution can't hurt.

it's called 'generalizing'. doesn't apply to all users, but applies to most of them. while dave dresden being a 'junior tranceaddict' looks stupid, 90% of the people when they register here, have no clue of what's going on.

I guess you haven't heard of EMC then.

many of them create threads asking for tracks similar to what they like. no-one gets ever flamed there. when it's about asking where to download, well that's a different matter.

well, yep, the flames go way too far. it's just that people get sick of reading the same every day. sometimes people aren't calm enough to just answer with 'please do not post any more threads like this, tranceaddict.com doesn't support illegal filesharing' |

Superfarstucker and friends seem to have a hard time understanding the concept here...
Basically, nobody here gives a whether you download mp3s or not. The fact is, though, that you do not talk about it here.
Yes, most of us do download stuff on a regular basis and I'd say 100% of us have done it at least once but that kind of discussion doesn't belong here. |
