Maybe I'm getting too old for this *scene* anymore. But some of you people need to lighten up a bit and not take things so seriously. |

thats a good point.. i never understood why musicians were complaining they werent getting paid for their songs, when they can easily make up for it in ticket sales and merchandising and advertising. |

OK i hear awesome tracks on dance records.com that are the and theres no way i can get it but vinyl and i dont need vinyl and i cant buy cds that dont exist nor can i download it from like a payed website like mp3.com cus that website sucks
so the only thing i got left to do is listen to the track on real player over and over and cry like a little bitch about the fact that i cant have it
thats the worse
and i cant do anything

I threw away my turntable about 15-20 years ago and have no desire to purchase antiquated vinyl records that DJs play. MP3 works best for me, since I can record and listen to them on my computer or on discs in my CD player. Anything wrong with that? I didn't ask for the music I downloaded, it was offered for free. So, if I only save the music for me and no one else and don't pander it to others, then what's wrong with that as well?

i have noticed something.....i have been too both TranceAddicts Forums...
I am a member in both Forums....Uk and Canadian Forums....
The UK forum is a lot different then this one....the UK forum does not shame a person for file sharing...and their are DJ that post in that board too....
I dont get why we as canadians with our version of tranceAddicts forum are not the same...
Why is the UK forum not shameful of Filesharing....infact...sometimes it is a good way for artist to get noticed by producer...maybe...not quite sure on that...just a thought....
It is only really wrong if you are Downloading it for your own profit...is it not....it is not like you are truly ripping the artist off....
The artist still gets payed to play at clubs/parties/raves...does he/she not....
The still make money off of albums they put out....do they not....
An if they do this...not sure if they do....but if DJ's were to endorse certain equipment like technics...yada yada....would they not get payed for that......
I mean Look at paul van dyk....
The guy makes what...last i heard $10 000 for a show...at least that is what the last club that had him spin in Calgary payed for him to do a set....
I mean who makes $10 000 to spin music for a few hours.....i sure as hell don't....now people will post a reply that he has been doing this for 15+ years now and thats what his talent will get him....
Do you really believe that if a few thousand people...compared to the thousand others that still pay for his music....Download one of his tracks is going to break his wallet....i very highly doubt that...
If there was no such thing as filesharing...i post another point to you....would you know as much about artists as you say you can....can everybody in here say that they can afford every album they have ever wanted from an artist... or when they put out a new single...i sure as hell do not like buying singles...especially when they are imports from the Uk or Europe....and i live in canada...prices go up....
Buy one CD for 4 different versions of the tracks...and hey maybe you only wanted the one track....but hey they dont do that you have to buy everything with it....why cant music stores just set up a system in which you can burn what ever you want to a cd...and you pay say $1 per track....instead of having to buy an album for the one song you wanted.....Sure buying Compiled albums i will do cause it just dont sound the same if you dl albums that are cut up when they are supposed to be mix....but of course you could mix it back together....
But of course the RIAA will not have that.... All you people support the RIAA because they are trying to do what is right....
Now how did the problem of filesharing get bigger then it should have....
Who was it oh yea that drummer from Metalica....like enough people have not boughten their albums....i wonder how many times they have rerelesed albums.....the guys complaining about lossing money because us younger folks dont want to go out and buy the old and over priced albums....what kind of frickin houses do the metallica members live in......
Now how come nobody complains about filesharing of TV shows...Porn Movies...its exactly the same thing...but their is no big huge deal being made about them....
All we hear is about the music....but it only seems to be North America that is having a huge problem with this....no where else is complaining.....
As it seems if you can make it to the top or even close to the top...even be a half decent dj you can make it without having to sell records......i mean $10 000 a show can fuel you for a while....especially if your booked pretty much solid....
I dont know maybe we make such a big deal about this sort of thing because their is not enough parties/clubs/raves in North America to support a dj...i find that really hard to believe though....hear about a lot of clubs and parties across Canada alone...sure not as much as in the States...but a reminder that the states pretty much buys what ever they can...although they may call raves drug infested... they would never abolish them... too much money to be made
and i may have said this in another post i made a few weeks ago.... but filesharing could be useful to the dj... you can dl the tracks you would like to use in set.... set up what you basicly want it to sound like... "BUY" the vinyl and have your set..... is that still not supporting the artists.... their are countless ways to support the artist other then getting up and buying ever single they release...
Anyway back to my original statement...i just noticed that the UK forum differed from the Canadian forum...whereas they DO NO SHUN PEOPLE FOR FILESHARING....RIAA are just tring to bit you for what they can...

The fact is that MP3 music is offered free right now, and with a few clicks I can be downloading. Do I want all the music? Hell no. Did I ask for it? Hell no. I didn't ask for the fricking Xmas carolers either, nor the dude beating trash can drums on the street. But if I recorded the music, then somehow I'm illegal since I was in earshot??? |
