if he's doing new things...good for him. but if its average, that kind of makes my assumption true.

Thus your comments about Darude are void. You're using information based off of stuff you heard two years ago and you can't do that. Your preception of ATB is probably void as well. Darude and ATB are two prime examples of artist who have progressed and moved on from their simplistic form. No their producers are not on the same level as say Holden or other prog artists, but they do not use those twangy instruments and 303 synths anymore.

I make my comments on PvD having heard his material, old and new as well as his sets. Before you jump on me for having seeing him live I will tell you, no I have not heard PvD live but I know the style he plays and such and can draw conclusion from that.

teknohead, it was clear from my older posts that i explained atb lost his credibility as a serious artist/musician for me personally at the point that he began, 9pm/ movin melodies. and i agreed with cobalt or yaletrance that it would take a miracle to make me bother with such an "artist" (in quotes cause its hard for me to describe atb as this)

one thing i want to pointout, teknohead, you have a strong tendency to compare those that producer progressive house/trance with those that aren't really trying to.

if this is just your personal preference, don't be a critic of individual tracks in a genre you think is inferior as a whole...whats the point? you don't like it obviously

ok ok...lets stop for a second and i'll agree with you for argument sake that atb isn't as good as pvd overall...now...

how does that make pvd good? so he is better than what you would consider the cheesiest crap out there...he still is a dick and he still can't produce good anymore...

This is FUNN!!!! haha

i agree with your first paragraph, but at teh end of teh second one, you cant draw a conclusion until you see him live. seeing someone live is totally differetn from listening to live sets on teh computer or on the radio.

jesus, i am so not getting sucked back in. just one response:
the whole point about atb sucking was to justify the so-called arrogance... i've merely been arguing that the professional manner in which he dissed atb is acceptable to me, unlike some of you. as for why pvd is good, that is not what this thread is about, despite the fact that it might have become that at times. so im not going there again...if you don't think he's good, your loss. if you want to know the reasons why i personally think he's amazing, check my other posts. if you can't be bothered, good, cause neither can i anymore.

have a good day and finishing of the stupidest thread ever :)

Of course it is. He beat the synths to death with the rest of his productions in attempt to duplicate it, and licensed it to every compilation of cheese out there (such as this one; check out the reviews for some entertainment). Furthermore, why did it become so popular? Because the docile American masses suddenly discovered trance? No, because it was simple and poppy enough to break through and do that.

Sandstorm wasn't altogether that bad, but it was so massively overplayed that few can manage to listen to the track again. Same goes for As The Rush Comes, on a smaller scale. Much of ATB's work, on the other hand, is intentionally accessible for listen by even the hip-hop saturated American market, because it is much more pop music than trance. Hence the reason artists such as PvD get pissed when lumped together with him.

id assume based on this post you spoke with atb directly about his intentions. how can you say it is intentional. but he arguing wiht you is probably like arguing with a brick wall, cant move you on that subject
