Sometimes, what does that have to do with anything? and I don't shove my exhaust pipe in a club and expel fumes, it disipates into the atmosphere where it becomes insignicficantly untoxic to humans! |

shortened life eh? All four of my grandparents are well into their eighties, as were their parents when they died. And...yep, here it comes...HALF OF THEM SMOKED! That's right...many people smoke all their life and never die from it.
I'll probably smoke all my life and live to 85, while you'll die at 55 from a brain tumour from all those chemical drugs you take. |

MANY people can play russian roulet everyday of their lives and live to be 80, the point is that it reduces ur chances of living longer |

On a serious note, you showed nothing but disrespect to anyone that does not agree with you. Calling people who don't want their lungs damaged whiners? How old are you? In life people disagree all the time, but you just jump into things, disagreeing and calling people names, I ignored your nonsense for a while. How do you get along with anyone? Common these are just people's opinions, you can smoke all you want, no one is gonna stop you ... just not around people who don't want to be hurt, and that makes you a selfish person. I hope you grow up/change and get along more with everyone.

^^^^ I'm sorry, but a lot of the people who posted in this thread are whiners...bitching about coming home stinking and bla bla bla...it tries my patience to read and hear this type of complaining. The non-smokers are getting their way in the end anyway...but I'm defending a habit that I have...a bad habit yes, but everyone on here has bad habits. Too much blame is put upon smokers for some of the ills of this world, when there are other things that deserve attention.
I seem to recall a post about drugs and when I said that I don't do them because I dont "want to get hurt", people jumped on me and said I knew nothing, I was an idiot, bla bla bla. It kills me that Skipper condemns smoking, but defends drug usage.
But whatever...trying to argue with you people is like talking to a bunch of canaries... |

Everyone has bad habits, but most don't involve inflicting damage on other people's bodies.
And last time I checked, doing drugs not involved with smoking don't have side effects on other people , but Smitty might even try to argue that one. |

I don't care that people smoke...I don't care that people do drugs...it's all personal choice.
However, when your decisions to use substances start affecting me, I speak up. YOUR choice shouldn't affect MY HEALTH every time I want to go clubbing, or go out to eat, or go for a drink in a pub.
The girl who shoots up in the stall next to me at Guvernment doesn't affect my health. But her cigarette does. Why shouldn't I care about that?? Multiply that by hundreds of people in poorly ventilated areas for extended lengths of time on a frequent basis and you've got quite a situation.
How the do you not see a difference?
(Smoking will kill you WAY before hard drugs will, btw. Peter Mansbridge told me so.) |
