don't u just hate it when u come home from a club and mom asks u: have u been drinking? have u been smoking? then why do u smell like liquor? why do u smell like smoke?
MOM I WAS AT A FREAKEN CLUB!
my point is it's rare that i go out clubbing mainly cuz i just hate being interogated the next day.
yes and the clothes last.. i remember it took 2 washes for a smell to get out once and trust me, if ur not a smoker, u really can pick it up easily cuz ur not used to it.
ONTOP of all, i have a serious asthma case. Sports asthma which is pretty much whenever i warm up before a game or an event, i need to take my meds. If i don't, by the time i'm warmed up, my lungs just can't pump enough air so i pretty much get an attack right on. Imagine that in open air. Now imagine that happening inside a club.
and yes, i've had hard time with bouncers before questioning me about my meds that i take with me...aka emergency buffer incase i get an attack... not fun either. |

I think it would work. You still can have smoking n clubs but you have to go outside. It could be pretty easy to set up at the Guv. Not so easy to set up at System but its still possible. Many of my smoker friend's got used to it in Ottawa and I'm sure Toronto can too.
And especially no smoking in restaurants anywhere will be a plus. Eventho they have the non-smoking section it still makes me sick when I catch a wiff of smoke from the smoking section. |

the way i look at it , me being a smoker, it would help me quit. because at the club is where you tend to smoke the most. |
Same here. I find I only light up when I'm out at a club in toronto (living in waterloo prevents me from doing so here). If they banned it, I probably would not head outside. |

Well me being a smoker I like the fact that I can smoke in the club but I can also see the problems the non-smokers have, and I can understand the need for the by-law although I don't want it but that opinion is totally biased of course...
Seriousley though how many of you non-smokers who bitch about second hand smoke drive automobiles? |

and that has what to do with smokers?
and you people ARE a big bunch of whiners...it feels as if I'm in kindergarten again and somebody stole your gloves before recess.
Over 30% of Canadians still smoke, and MOST of them are considerate about it. I certainly don't go around blowing it in people's faces like an idiot and people can certainly AVOID me if they see I'm smoking. I agree that restaurants should be smoke-free, but bars/clubs? Nope..they should be free game...they've always been full of smoke..if you don't like it...ing stay home. 2nd hand smoke might kill, but so does the air you breathe, the food you eat, the drugs you take.
For a country whose people thinks they're free, it seems to me as if we're just going backwards...more rules...rules, rules, rules. Oh, and if Toronto goes no-smoking, watch the city's economy die again like it did back in 1999 or whatever.
This is why Europe is the best...they don't concern themselves with such petty things like making a club free of smoking. Even Tiesto said there are far too many rules in North America...and he's ing right. |

EXACTLY! CO2 emissions kill more people and cause more diseases than second hand smoke in any given year...but of course you guys won't say anything about that, because most of you own a car and can't be bothered in trying to help save the environment and reduce cancer. Of course not...you just attack smokers and blame them for everything.
 |

Blame smokers!!!! idiot
Anyways, this no-smoking by-law is awesome. I recently enjoyed it in Winnipeg and it was amazing. LA, and NYC i believe have the same laws and clubs are just as packed there as they are anywhere. |

yeah...how about we just ban alcohol outright because it gives people liver disease and people who drive drunk kill people in car accidents. Or how about we ban junk food because it contributes to the obesity of North America, kills thousands upon thousands every year and drains the healthcare system?
Seriously...when is it going to STOP? How can smoking be a social taboo, but more than half of you drink alcohol, obviously eat too much, smoke ing weed, do drugs, drive cars and pollute the environment, etc, etc...the list goes on. If we ban smoking, we should just go ahead and ban everything that's potentially lethal to the human body.
I once had this fat disgusting woman come up to me at a party and say "how can you smoke...it's such a health risk and so disgusting!" I replied by saying "maybe you should stop ing eating Wendy's everyday, because you're far more grotesque." |
