so why dont they sell cocain and heroin? they would make a 'killing' off those too |

Smitty, honestly...give it up.
There aren't a few dozen cigarettes being smoked in a club; Try 100's, or even 1000's. And the smoke is filling the whole club; how would you explain the fact that my sweater, and jacket reak of smoke the next morning? I smoke myself, but I rarely smoke on the way back home, and my sweater and coats stay in Coatcheck?
And comparing fastfood or booze to smoking is just ridiculous, mainly because smoking is a lot more addictive than booze or fastfood. |

drugs only hurt the ppl who use them AS LONG AS they abuse them. moderate drug use is not gonna kill u. Actually, i look at drugs differenty than smoking. Drugs are very useful if used for health related problems. Not so legal drugs are harmful only if abbused. Moderate drug use only will affect the person using them
ON THE OTHER HAND
smoking doesn't only hurt the person using the tobacco, but the rest of the ppl in the area. Please quit being somewhat ignorant to this fact and try to picture urself as a non smoker. |
and my solution is...in restaurants...have a smoking section that is sealed off and properly vhentilated. Oh wait..we used to have that, but anti-smoking people STILL bitched! In bars/club, having a smoking room or a heated patio that are properly vhentilated, etc. Try to please BOTH parties...but anti-smoking people want it their way and seem to be (unfairly) getting it. |

Well, I'm certainly glad you're being so sensitive about the issue.
When they were dying, did you say "well gee Aunt Edna, maybe you should have just not gone clubbing, not gone out to eat, not stood in line at bars, not hung out with friends who smoked...because then you wouldn't be dying!!"
You know, because it's HER fault. |

more addictive? The number of alcoholics and obese people in North American would seem to indicate otherwise. 30% of Canadians and Americans smoke, but 50% are obese. Hmmm |

| I live in Ottawa, and the bilaw here makes a huge difference. You can breath properly in a club, you don't smell like absolute after a night out, and your eyes don't sting! You guys will appreciate it. If people wanna polute the air, they can do it outside, not in your face! |

actually the resturants and coffee shops are the ones that bitched cuz it draged bussiness downwards. Most places couldn't afford building such facilities. The idea is valid but applying it is not as easy as it sounded when they decided on it. i don't want to go into technical details on how this effect the overall ventelation in the system but if u were an engineer, feel free to pm me and i can explain to u in very technical details on why such system can not exist and the problem is still there. |

Stats mean all. For all I know you pulled that out of your ass. And even if they are true, that doesn't make smoking any better than Wendy's.
And obese doesn't equal addicted to Wendy's. Also, being obese doesn't cause lung/breathing problems to others around you. And lastly, it's much easier to turn away from being addicted to eating than it is to smoking. Ask anyone who's quit like 15 years ago...they still get cravings to this day.
Whatever...there's no point arguing with you, because like always, you display a huge amount of ignorance to every other opinion other than your own. |
