Smoking bylaw coming into effect? (pg. 11)

| Then again if it wasn't for smoking, there wouldn't be gold club events or red light parties and places like ottawa wouldn't get the big djs at all, its ironic that the girls sit there and sell smokes but no one can smoke in the clubs here! |

and my suggestion (or did you not read the whole thread?) was that outside patios or properly vhentilated/sealed off rooms should be established so that bitchy people like you can avoid the nasty nasty nasssty smoke. London is doing it quite well right now actually...Toronto should look to it for a good example when the law comes into effect.
But of course...there are many people out there who want smoking banned from clubs outright...a compromise should be made to satisfy both parties...I've been saying this all along.
But until it becomes law in Toronto, I'll be smoking away in the clubs, so watch out, or you might catch a whiff and die of cancer!

| I smoke quite a bit at clubs but I welcome this bylaw. If I can't make myself quit maybe the law can. It's so hard to resist the temptation to light up a smoke when you see your friends puffing away on their cigarettes. Now if it were banned by law and no-one was smoking it would be hard the first couple of time but I'll definitely get used to not smoking inside a club and so will all the other smokers. I see this as a very good thing. |

So if you agree with the bylaw and have suggestions why are you posting like an pretending to disagree with everyone else? Exams over in the exciting world of historic exploration? |

I said in my first post that I hadn't read the whole thread. Who isn't doing their reading now, eh?
I never disagreed with the idea of patios, did I? All I've been doing is responding to your idiotic posts since about page 4.
It's hard to believe that you actually suggested that, though, given your arguments thus far. I believe your suggestion was actually, "ing go somewhere else." But maybe I'm wrong... |

Seriously...when is it going to STOP? How can smoking be a social taboo, but more than half of you drink alcohol, obviously eat too much, smoke ing weed, do drugs, drive cars and pollute the environment, etc, etc...the list goes on. If we ban smoking, we should just go ahead and ban everything that's potentially lethal to the human body.

I agree partly with what you say but all those things don't have an effect on us when we are at clubs, in restaurants or bars. Someone drinking has no health effect on ME. Someone smoking has a huge effect on MY health.

There is a certain stand offish, snobby attitude that many people have toward smokers (this thread has a few) that I take offense to...that's why. As I said before, people are quick to throw blame on smokers for causing cancer and draining the healthcare system, but often ignore other problems like alcohol abuse and obesity. |
