I went and had a pretty good time. To be honest I enjoyed Trents set more than i enjoyed Sandras. Before last night I hadnt really ever heard of Trent and didnt know what to expect, when he hit the decks it was pretty much pure energy. Im the kind of person that will react to watever the music does to me, and he had me dancing with a huge smile on my face. As for Sandra, her set was almost too "techy" for me. I dig her deep dark hard style but she really layed on some thick tech sounds. Thats ok in moderation but I kind of felt like it was a little much at times. Also, I would have to say that she wasnt exactly "on". I dont want to say she had trainwrecks or anything but it definitely seemed like she was ing up at times. None the less I had a really fun time. I thought it was cool just to get to see her spin live. She seemed like a sweetheart and wasnt completely trashed or anything like I have heard rumors about. All in all it was worth the $12 to get in.
On a side note..... there was like a million asian kids all crammed up front. A lot of the females were dancing which is great, but all the dudes were just standing around. It pissed me off a few times whe they would stand all close to me when I was trying to dance and give me no damn room. I dont claim to be good at dancing or anything, but its nice to be able to move to the music.
Were any other wisco TA's there? |
Thanks for coming out to the event. My production...Dance & Dreams Productions helped promote the event in conjunction with The Rave. DJ Journey had a bangin ass set opening up for Trent Cantrelle and Sandra Collins. I didnt really feel Trent too much but he was solid, Sandra was good. Ups to DejaFua and Mondo for their solid opening sets. Woulda had waaayyyyyy more people there had The Rave gave us more notice to promote. It was really a last second thing. |

| That's too bad man... I wish I could listen too more trance DJ's but where I live in Green Bay I don't think there's any raves or anything like that... OR maybe I'm wrong. Does anybody knows of Trance events in the Fox Cities area? |

I play at least one night a month at Ravens lounge in Appleton - I play house music but one of the other guys I play with is a Trance jock, and pretty solid at that.
We'd be glad to have you down anytime :) |

That's awesome! Where's the Raven's Lounge in Appleton? College Ave? And are you Rob Turner? When is your next gig?

Yes and October 28th is my next gig, I'll be playing with my girlfriend Myra Romano for her birthday/halloween costume party. It's going to be a ton of fun m8 - Come down, introduce yourself and let me buy ya a drink! :) |

The gig is at Ravens m8 - There will be a thread for it w/ flyer and other general info pretty soon :)
My buddy will be playing Trance from about 9-11, then we'll be on from then on. I play all different kinds of house, and my influences are numerous. The short list:
Sasha
John Digweed
Jimmy Van M
Max Graham
Danny Howells
Nick Fanciulli
And I'll be playing with Myra, who's influences are along the lines of:
Desyn Masiello
Luke Fair
Max Graham
And more along those lines.
