am i the only one here that finds it just a tad insane that we need to DEBATE whether or not a club needs to comply to health and safety codes????????????
several times a year the guvernment turns itself into a potential deathtrap and people in this thread are saying "stop bitching, just be happy you have that potential deathtrap at your disposal"....wtf????? |

you should complain to people who can make a difference. not us, we don't care.
get used to it, or don't go. :)
i didnt like the fact that it was rammed to my titties, but hearing ferry throw down an 8 hour set made it worth it.
this is the way life is for a toronto clubber. |
you've said it much better than I did...that's basically my point...it's not the complaining itself, because people do have a right to complain...it's the people who complain while KNOWING it's going to be like that, yet go anyway and then say their night sucked because of it. THAT I don't understand. Did they think it would be empty :conf: LOL
If you KNOW going in that it's going to be rammed, then why go if you're just going to complain and say how your night was afterwards??? *Of course* I wish their was more room...but I know it's going to be rammed for someone like Ferry. You either make the best of it, or you let like that, or the "losers" in the crowd, or whatever, ruin your night...and *nothing* was going to get in the way of me enjoying Ferry :) Not the wait, not the crowd, not the less-than-perfect sound system. Sounds cheesy, but you're night is to a large exten what you make of it. You know going in the music will rock...so push the rest of it out of your head and enjoy!!! :) |

i heard a rumour that for the april 8th party you'll get discounted admission if your willing to allow late arrivers to either sit or stand on your shoulders for the balance of the evening so that everyone gets in and charles turns a bigger profit.....can anyone confirm this or is someone pulling my leg here?

lol Craig...
I agree with the safety concern regarding overcrowding...definitely a valid complaint, but I hear more people complaining about not having room to dance rather than feeling unsafe ;)
BTW...how does Guv get away with it? *clearly* that has got to be a major fire code violation...do they buy off the Fire Marshall...seriously though, wtf? You'd think they'd get inspected every week with their track record of ramming people in there.
I should retract some of what I said earlier too...the overcrowding sucks and everyone does has a right to complain about it, although if it bothers them so much, I still don't know why they go. I guess I've just accepted that it's going to be that way and I try to (and do) have a good time anwyay. That doesn't make it "ok" though...I certainly agree on that point.
So then...what could be done? damned if I know. |

ya, don't get me wrong....i also get sick of the same complaints week after week...the lines are too long, the place is too rammed...but saturday was just silly and people have a ligitimate beef....saturdays complaints weren't about whining, they were about safety...
how do they get away with it?? i have no idea because other clubs around the city have had to close for short periods of time due to overcrowding, serving miniors,etc.....that's when a club usually does it's "renovations" lol....didn't the docks get nailed last summer?? it does boggle the mind how guv gets away with it...i could be wrong but i'm pretty sure the guv pays offduty cops up to tripple time to police the crowds around the building...maybe that alone is enough reason for them to turn a blind eye as to what's going on inside...i just remember being stuck in that mass saturday night unable to move an inch in any direction with hundreds of pounds of force pushing me from all sides and thinking "how in gawds name do they get away with this,lol"...
the sad thing is it might take someone getting seriously hurt before the club decides to do anything...
great club...great dj's...piss poor management |

| For those who say 'don't go if you know it's gonna be packed!' Well, honestly, we're forced to go because of the headliners! I can't refuse seeing someone like Ferry or Armin... I will continue to go, and continue to say what I disliked about the night in my reviews (ie: too packed) :toothless |

well people saying "if you don't like it just don't go" is a weak argument in my opinion...no issue is ever resolved by ingoring it or walking away from it...i may not like the new mayor or how some things are done in this city but it doesn't mean i'm going to leave... |

Damn, all the people that had an "AMAZING TIME" IMO were either brain-burned on e or somehow made it to the VIP room. What the hell does it matter what DJ is there, and what kind of music playing if you have to wait 2 hrs in line, another hour in the coatcheck, and as you're about to check in your coat they tell you "coat-check is sold out."
So here's the situation: they let people in, charge them cover and you can't even check in your ing winter jacket??? Even though people are leaving and checking out their coats, they won't take yours, cos see, in that case it looks like the employees are ripping the club off. And it doesn't matter the club is ripping its customers off, no! WHAT THE !!!!!!!! Whichever moron on this thread said that "they don't have to guarantee you a coatcheck", well dumbass, do they have to guarantee you a washroom? Where do you come from?
So as we squeeze in with our coats in our hands through the nasty and sweaty crowd, full of wierd-ass people pretending to be having fun, we get stressed out by realizing that this night is totally ED UP! I mean really ED UP! :happy2:
This is the second and LAST time I'm attending guv. EM' S with their stupid overrated piece of club! And every DJ that decides to spinn there! Run a ing black night 8 times a week for all I care. |
