That's not true at all, sorry but it's not. I actually found a ton of actual FANS in the club (including bartenders)--ie who knew his productions, songs, etc. A special event like this brings in people for the music more so than to UltraSpin and things like that.
It seems to me like you talked to a couple people and you got the wrong impression. Tbat's a shame, because I really loved the crowd. (Though it was a little crowd-ED lol). |
yeh i agree but still there were exta people who shouldnt have been there, i mean they couldve left some room for us people, u kno.:stongue: i know its kinda funny but still. and the worst part is the staff at guv, they are just fuked up. |

That's ridiculous. What about the Guv Sound System? You should check out an ordinary Sat night when they don't have an unmanagable crowd. It's a fukin wicked party. |
i was there when guy ornadel came, and it was a blast. thats why i chose to go to guv last night, but it was totally opposite. |

You have to be mean, or a bitch, to get any sort of response to a mainly ed and drunk off their ass crowd. You think if a bouncer was all polite and said things like "Well sir, I don't believe you should go up those stairs tonight", anyone would listen to him? |

Weird night at the Guv, that's for sure...Kid Vicious was great and Ferry was totally amazing...It was just too crowded, so I couldn't move which made me a bit paranoid...I was even dancing outside at -5, and I think I'm gonna get seriously sick now...The good part of the night was that I met bunch of you guys and I just LOVED all of you.. :)
I will go to bed now, finally!!!!

LOL :D I really do not understand why everyone thought Ferry was good. Compared to recent Toronto sets by PVD, Infected Mushroom, Armin etc, Ferry's set was absolutely brutal.
Sure there were a few great tracks that put a smile on my face and made me dance like a crazy f&ck, but damn, he shouldn't play 8 hours if he only has enough good material for 3. |
Ilya, I think u just could not get into it b/c of the crowd, and he played much better after you left. The sound was also terrible - that did not help either. |

Well, screw that.. I missed 2 hours out of 8 an hour set. If he only played well during those 2 hours, well, that just confirms that he isn't a great DJ. A good DJ is supposed to play well throughout, and not just during 25% of his set.
I can guarantee you, if he continues like that he'll be out of top 10 in no time ! |

Well guys,, at 8:30am I only saw a couple of TA's still on the dance floor incluing myself and Frank and Silke!@ It was WIkKed Assss! yeahoo - I had a blast and hope you all did too - i read some not so positive reviews, and wonder if you were even there... I realize that they were violating ever fire code possible at a point there... but you just have to learn to deal with it is suppose and make the most out of it, Ferry Rocked my Body Now!~!! i hope all is well with you all and it was a pleasure hanging out with everyone!!!
I have a job interview otday - so wish me luck !!!

Ilyia- really shocked to hear u claim that was the 'worst headliner ever' for you. Its not like he was trainwrecking or playing Dr. Dre tunes. I think u woulda enjoyed it more if you had more room to dance. I've had horrible times in crowded places when everyone else said the set was amazing. Things distract you. Personally, I'm happier to hear newer releases & I like the electro sound.
Some other tracks he dropped that nite were:
Sosei- Airscape (TUNE!!!)
Spirits- Modulations (Beatpusher rmx)
Conscious- Kai Tracid (Corsten rmx) |

For me, the night was an absolute success!!! First of all, I was driven to the club in a LIMO. It was my first time being in one, so I had a wicked time (props to Mike for that). Then we got in, able to grab a couple drinks, then I went upstairs and somehow easily got my way into the DJ area. I had a new production Ferry was waiting to hear, so (BEST PART OF ALL)... I was able to personally give him the new track and got a chance to breifly talk to him about it! What can I say .. HELL of a nice guy! So I stood up in the booth for a few minutes watching the happy (but squished) people below. Definetly the coolest thing I've ever done at Guv!
As for the crowd... exactly as I expected. Still frustrating that there's never any place to dance at a DANCE club... but this is the standard for Guv these days... you go for the DJ/music.. and not to dance.
I ended up hanging out upstairs for a while and listened to Manzone and Strong... brilliant set! Much different than when I saw them at 33 Degrees on Wednesday! I really enjoyed a more progressive style. The crowd seemed to really love it too. And, we were jammed in there like cattle either.
Regardless, the night was successful imo. I had a great time and had the chance to meet one of my mentors.
PEACE |
