Making the Guv accountable
View this Thread in Original format

I am currently in the process of contacting Toronto's Fire Marshall and will be filing an official complaint regarding this past Saturdays overcrowding at the Guv. I have no idea what this will accomplish however I have no plans of just leaving it with him. I'm going to request what the chain of events will be and follow through on them. At the very least the Guvernment ownership will be aware that the proper authorities are looking into the problem.

I'm also currently in the process of finding out what a nightclub can and can't do regardig their searches. Doorstaff at clubs are not allowed to run their hands into your clothing, down your pants or touch your genitals. Hopefully I can get a set guideline as to what a legal search is and pass that information along to the various clubs so they know steps are being taken to make them accountable.

Let me make this perfectly clear. I am not out get the Guvernment or any other club. I just think it's long overdue that they need to be held accountable for the way they run their operations. If these things went on at any other business no one would put up with it but for some reason people think nightclubs are above the law.

I will keep you posted when I hear back from the Fire Marshall and the police.

Guvernment is a tragedy waiting to happen, *knock on wood*
A tagedy that can be easily avoided.

Hope there's a strong followup on your part, since money talks, and the authorities seem too look the other way once the magic manillia envelope hits the table.

I remember in the spring of 2000 when they found an OD behind the dumpster beside the Warehouse part.. never read a word though...

Seriously, I hope some positive results actually end up coming out of this. I don't expect every club to turn squeaky clean in terms of how it runs its business, but there's no reason as to why they shouldn't all meet some basic standards.

I believe this has been done before. Rumour has it that the Guv pays off the Fire Marshall, now this is just a rumour not fact.

I hope something can be done to make a night out in the club enjoyable even when you have to put up with the posers in there. Good luck room2dance

Really man!
I thought I was at the doctor's office last Saturday night.
The chick who searched me be crabbed my sack so hard she almost made me cough!!!!.
I thought next she was going to get out the dredded rubber glove and say "bend over son" as it snapped onto her hand. Ouch!!!

If they want to check for weapons such as knives and guns no problem but thats as fars as it should go.
It is obvious at least 1/2 of the attendance will bring in or consume some form of contraban so what are they trying to prove and to whom.
If they did not let in all the people that they could find on if the really tried hard enough, the place would be empty!
What is next pouchy, pouchy drug dogs to sniff out your stash?
!NOT!

Good move room2dance, I'll be impressed if you actually follow through on this. I agree with both your complaints.

TrickDadde, the bouncers search people to take away any drugs found or make sure you don't have any. Then, they give the confiscated drugs to their buddies who are dealing on the inside, so they can sell people's drugs back to them, or make sure people come without any and end up having to buy on the inside anyway. Then they get a cut of the sales.
