i think it speaks volumes as to the "capabilities" of saddam hussein if even colin powell says, whoops we might've made a huge goof in evaluating iraq's military capabilities. oh yeah, asking for another 9/11 is really gonna cement people's views on war too... just ask the spaniards after they got rocked by bombs all over the f0cking place.

to each their own in how to respond to terrorism... i personally think that to respond to terrorism with a war based on false tenets is definitely not the way to go. it's a little bit unsettling that immediately after 9/11, the POTUS asked his top advisors to look for ANY link between alqaeda and iraq, even tho it had been proven time and time again that there was no connection WHATSOEVER!!! it was just a personal vendetta from the start ("and he tried to kill my daddy"). i definitely did not like how the POTUS decided to hide himself in a bunker in the middle of nowhere for a few days after 9/11. i was really impressed with how the spaniards and its leaders spoke out against terrorism: a collective protest in the streets of madrid, with people numbering in the thousands, leaders of spain and other european countries walking arm in arm in silent protest...
and jamezny1, don't bash people for others' opinions. and please find some facts to back yourself up... other TAs have backed their own stuff with facts (see highmay in acosta, he's one of the more well-reasoned and well-spoken TAs here) and various people kinda have in this thread. :tongue2 |
