Let me start by saying that this thread belongs on the Political Discussion Board, not here. Second, I don't usually talk about politics and war, but after reading this thread, I have to say something. PVD, as does any human being, has the right to wear or say whatever he wants. We all have views and opinions that are different. That's what makes us individuals. As far as being pro-American, Damn right I am pro-American and proud to be an American. However, that doesn't mean that I agree with all the foreign policies that are government has. Do I think that we still belong in Iraq, No we don't. Did we belong there in the first place, that's debateable. Something had to be done about Saddam. He's a dictator that had no regard for humanity or life. If indeed he did have ties to Al Queada, Which I fully believe in my heart that he did, then we did the right thing by removing him. As far as the anti-war stuff. War isn't the answer, however sometimes it's necessary. War is nothing to be proud about or to celebrate. War breeds death and pain and anguish and chaos---I could keep going. But after what happened on 9-11-01, NO ONE can convince me that we had no right bombing Afghanistan and removing the Taliban or bombing Iraq and removing Saddam. I stood across the river in Queens and saw the first tower burning, and then the second tower explode when the next plane struck it. I spent the next couple of weeks straight going to work and then after work going down to Ground Zero and helping out as much as I could. The first night I came home covered in all the ash and smelled like a fireplace. I'll never forget that. The biggest argument for anti-war is the fact that our bombings killed innocent people and civilians. Do you think the animals that flew those planes into the WTC gave a about civilian life? People across the globe were cheering and dancing for joy when those towers collapsed and killed 4000 some odd innocent people and hero's trying to save people from a dispicable act. Just remember, they bombed us first in '93 and former Pres Clinton did nothing about it. He did nothing about it when they bombed the USS Cole. Bush did something about it after 9-11. 3 strikes-you're out. Bottom line, Although I do agree that the US sticks their nose into places it doesn't belong too often, I love this place and will stand proud behind the fact that I'm an American. And the way I feel for those of you that say I can't stand America or that you hate this place, I got something short and sweet to tell you: GET THE OUT AND GO BACK TO WHEREVER IT IS YOU FEEL IS BETTER THAN THIS PLACE.

just a few points... it's been proven by bush's staff members that iraq and al-qaeda had no association WHATSOEVER and that dubya bush just wanted to look for any reason to go into iraq. clinton did everything he could under his power to get as much done against terrorism as he could, as did gore (see richard clarke's "Against All Enemies"... before anyone rounds off on this, he did work for three republican presidents and the ONLY democratic president in [for most of us anyway] our lifetimes and is non-partisan). i think '93 ushered in a whole new era because it introduced us to terrorism so clinton really could not have done much to prevent it. u can blame his predecessors for that... reagan, bush senior helped to bring all this about with their actions in the middle east and afghanistan in the 1980s... whatever just wanted to clear up some matters. awesome that u were down there helping out the first few days after, i commend u for it :)

i do think the discussion is healthy, as long as there's no fricking flame war... *cough*

that is called capitalism. You should love it. All your attitude is geared towards defending this, hence you should be happy that he is taking advantage of providing a service for a charge. He has optimized this charge to maximize his profits.

Oh.. please.. come on. You, whom you love your country and all the freedoms etc. that you associate with the US, should be a "beacon for the world" and defend his right to free speech.

I refuse to forgive America for Hiroshima and Nagasaki...You cant go on killing thousands of people just for the sake of a few idiots....Learn people Learn.......Dont tell me that all those innocent people had to die just to remove one man from power,,,babies man ing babies,,,,there are hundreds of tiny children being treated in London hospitals because they have had their arms and legs blown off in the American search for WMD..................
BL2K
I understand your anger about that shirt and agree with you that its !
There has been - and there is still - a big discussion about pro and contra of the war over here in Germany.

But how can you say you wish that Germany gets attacked by terrorists?
I think this is really hard stuff!
Only because one man is wearing a shirt you cant blame 80 Million!

In my working office we are talking about the terror riscs in Germany/Europe and USA (so nearly the whole western world) nearly every day. Nobody wants, that 'our' countries get hit by terrorits.
We are aware of the danger just like you are.

Just because the german goverment dicides that does not mean that everybody over here agrees!!!

So you should not say things like these.

So long, greetings from Dusseldorf to New York.

I understand where you're coming from, but would you please stop blaming a nation of 291,000,000 people for actions we cannot control? It's the government leaders who decide to go to war, mate. As you can see, even many citizens which you would call "patriotic" are against the war in Iraq.

As for me, first chance I get to move to a country where the ladies are fittah, smell ya laytah homes!

Steven not wanting to blame you for ignorance, but how DARE you blame us citizens of this country, for actions we cannot control. Britain was in the same situation. For the record this conflict in Iraq has historically raised the most suppost against the war in the Usa's small history, Veterans, politicians, the common man, a freak load of people were marching against this idea of going to war, but the power of authority and decisions does not belong to us.

If I recall Britain also had a fair share of battle against Blair and his idea of going to war, yet Britain went into the conflict. How is the situation any different? It's not. It's run by politicians which we unfortunately cannot control no matter how strong the masses opinion is. And don't give me that crap " but Blair is Bush's gimp" I've heard it way too much.

This isn't a personal attack against you, it's just I'm sick of hearing people blaming "me" for what's going on over there. Mind you I'm of French-American nationality so try and imagine how much people give me from both sides?! ( I wish I was neither nationality in all honesty )

And for your info there's more then 10 different countries on Iraqi soil as we speak, and 50+ countries around the world that support it. BUT in most cases it is not the people's opinion, it's politics.

Don't blame us because of this conflict.
