You know, I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw the wad hold the severed head up. I thought he looked like Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat I after he did his Fatality. I didn't want to say anything earlier, but what the hell. This thread needs a little lightening up, despite it being such a grave matter. Imagine what they would have done for retribution if the prison thing had been something more severe, like torture......

I expected, and laughed quite a bit at, the reactions to my response to this thread. (The few that I took the time to read, at least.)
The Middle East... hmm... They have oil. If they didn't have oil, there would be nothing there but sand, dictators, people who enjoy destroying things, and a few million people who would rather bite the hand that is ing feeding them than do anything to assist the foreign men and women who are dying to keep them alive.
Name one good, positive thing that any government in the Middle East has done in the past 40 years for anyone other than themselves. NAME ONE. You will quickly find that that can't be done. They're nothing but a bunch of angry zealots arguing about who has the better imaginary friend.
As far as Israel is concerned, the only reason they have any power at all is because the United States supplies them with tanks, guns, and missiles. We've dumped more money into that country than any other ally we've ever had. They've given us -nothing in return, except maybe a few thousand soldiers every now and then when the risk of death is low and the reward looks promising. The irony there is that we gave them the equipment that said soldiers used to give us aid the few times Israel has stepped up and decided to help.
People fling at the United States because the government here is doing what it can to keep the world from tearing itself apart. If the American military had never taken part in anything in the Middle East to begin with, there wouldn't be anything there right now. They would have fought each other to death fifteen years ago. I'm surprised that there's as much there as there is, considering the outright stupidity of the people running things there.
Bush is an idiot, yes. I can't stand him or the things that he says on television. But off camera, he knows what he's doing, and at least he's making a go at eliminating the problems created by Middle Eastern nations that are ing over economies and politics all over the world. For that, he deserves nothing but the utmost respect.
Call me an idiot. I could care less. I live in the richest, most powerful country in the world. If we're idiots, why have we been running the show for as long as we have? Why have we remained the most powerful nation on the planet through two World Wars, Vietnam, and three major conflicts in the Middle East? Why are we always the one that has to go in and set things straight?

Probably the taliban whould have taken off his mask, unveiling a terrifying skull, that would than spit a massive flame and turn the poor guy into carbon, or maybe he would have thrown a hook into his head, pulling it with the entire skeleton off his skin(scorpion style). They weren't calling all Americans idiots they are calling you an idiot. Please don't use "we" and "we're" in an attempt to include all Americans when you state your views. What part did you play in the "two World Wars, Vietnam, and three major conflicts in the Middle East"?
Three things bug the out of me when people post or talk about war and politics...
1) When someone either intentionally or inadvertently takes credit for the deeds of others when they personally played no part in the accomplishments that they are boasting about.
2) When someone from any country in the world feels the need to come onto a message board and post something that is basically saying "our country is better than yours".
3) When someone blames an entire population for the actions of others. |
