Man this world would be a hell of a lot easier for them if there was no US. and that is what they are trying to do.
So we could bomb ourselves and teh world would be a better place.
obviously thats sarcasm if you don't catch on too fast.
I think it is time to look at this a little more broadly and see what it says about our foreign policy. When should we actually disband a government and restructure a country? You would think when there is a general concensus between many countries, however that didn't happen here.

I am not stupid and I realize like that happens all the time. I am not commenting on right or wrong...I am commenting on your comparison. I think it was the method of execution that is the issue.
Let's be honest...would you rather be shot and killed or would you rather have your head sliced off? His throat wasn't "cut"...his head was cut off with a knife and it took the guy forever to do it. Was it more "savage"? Yes...absolutely. |

the point i was trying to make is that being cruel isnt a local phenomenon in the middle east(i know you know this, but i had to say it anyway).
in belgium 4 people are on trial for kidnapping several girls, keeping them in the basement, raping them many times during a long time and then eventually killing them. details of story are very upsetting.
a guy at my highschool later turned out to be a pedophile. had gf who already had kids, they werent his. he put a lock on the fridge, if they wanted food, the kids had to do things for him.
savages are everywhere. i dont think for a second that people in the middle east are more savage than other poeples. this video was made to have an effect, that everybody should react on it. it was supposed to be spectacular. same as 9/11. make everybody react.
i hope they find the persons responsible for nick bergs murder and that they are properly punished, and by that i dont mean sentenced to death. |

Foreign policy? It's nice to think that America is policing the world for the good of all - and Britain come to that. But it seems to me, as in any area of politics, that the preachers have to be whiter than white, or sooner rather than later they will be found out and their own will come right back at them.
People in the world generally aren't stupid, yet the politicians seem to think they can treat them as though they are, and get away with it. Wrong!! People can't always have the wool pulled over their eyes. People know Saddam shouldn't have been allowed to continue. People know that the US (and Britain) shouldn't have been abusing prisoners. It appears that the locals already knew by word of mouth what the americans were doing in the prison.
How do the american government expect Iraqi's, or the rest of the world to respect them when they are doing this. To preach peace to the world, and try and convince us that America cares about anybody but themselves requires a minimum that they are honest, open, and that their actions are transparent for all to see.
Oh yeh. They were open and honest, and just a bit too transparent. You need to be clean on the inside before you get too transparent.
