What a biased poll, the reason this will never work is because there are too many noobs on this forum who will pick OMG I love armin and Tijs tunes just because. There is absolutely no variety as I look through these lists, or rational as far as the broad EDM spectrum. I don't see any Deephouse, if any it is very little, or proghouse for that matter. This is pretty much a PvD/Tijs/Armin fest featuring any other trance music that comes to mind....where is all the proghouse, breakbeats, progbreaks and all that....anyway, here is a sample of what could be considered a top 10, eventhough it's so impossible with the supposed different edm genres we are to include, and considering this is a trance community there will always be a bias/lean toward that style of music, so whatever, cheers :whip:

1. Bedrock - Heaven Scent
2. Everything But the Girl - Missing (Todd Derry Club mix)
3.Faithless - Insomnia
4. Billie Ray Martin - Honey (Chicane Club Mix)
5. BT - Mercury & Solace
6. Robert Miles - Children
7. Kate Bush - Running Up that Hill (Infusion Remix)
8. Veracocha - Carte Blanche
9. Origin - Wide Eyed Angel (Olive Lieb Mix)
10. Paul van Dyk - For an Angel

It might be helpful for you to read the name of this website.

As for new trance listeners who only list tracks from the last two years or so, I suspect that their contribution will factor out in the end due to the number of more experienced lists here. I don't think it's something worth getting upset about.

Well as the post above hints...this is a trance-oriented website so I would assume most responses will show a prediclection towards this genre of EDM.

As such, prehaps it would be prudent to modify the name to "Top 10 Trance Tracks"

Here is my list
1) Veracocha - Carte Blanche
2) Chicane - Autumn Tactics (Thrillseekers Club Mix)
3) York - Reachers of Civilization (rank 1 remix)
4) Altitude - Altitude (SHOKK remix)
5) Timo Maas vs. Ian Wilke - Twin Town (Nick Warren Mix)
6) Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia
7) Aly & Fila- Eyes of Horus (Ronski Speed Mix)
8) Plastic Boy - Live Another Life
9) The Generator - Where Are You Now (Moonman Remix)
10) Suburban Train

By the way, I remember this from the Track Of The Year threads: the 10 through 1 point system you're using strongly skews results towards the top three or four selections in each list, more than is justified in such close rankings. Dig up the threads addressing this, or perhaps someone involved in the Track Of The Year operation can provide some insight.

True, but it works for two reasons. 1. It allows people power to vote strongly for tracks they'd rather see in. They can put ones they can't decide on lower down. 2. It makes compiling a Top 100 a lot easier. Lots of tracks have three votes, or two, or six... how do you place them in a top 100? You'd end up with several tracks sharing a position, which isn't accurate at all. Track of the Year is about eliminating tracks down to one final winner, not placing tracks in a chart.

How many ing times, BECAUSE (most) PEOPLE HERE DON'T LIKE THEM AS MUCH AS TRANCE. Why the hell should I try & make my list span across all the subgenres you say when I prefer trance to all of them?

It was never going to be an accurate representation of EDM as a whole being posted on tranceaddict, but if it was trance only there'd only be dispute about whether or not certain tracks can be counted as trance or not.

Also it's funny how you assume the people who vote for Armin & Tiesto tracks are only doing it for the sake of it..

Ever consider why they became such popular DJs/producers in the first place? Because so many people loved their tunes/sets, before they became famous. Same goes for Pvd, Ferry etc.
SYSTEM-J
I agree. This is a poll made up of people's opinions. If they like a genre more than another, they should vote for it. People who deliberately vote for classics and hyped artists rather than tracks they really like are elitists dominated by other people.

I always knew trance would dominate the Top 100, because it's the Tranceaddict Top 100.
Remiks
^ respect, so in turn I guess it should be the "Trance 100" ....if you read the initial post/rules, it says try not to list just epic trancers, this isn't a trance poll, but rather EDM as a whole, then again it is a Trance site, and alot of trance listeners are ignorant when it comes to other forms, so in the end everythign will lean toward it, and I'm not mad hehe just wondering why it's so biased.

SYSTEM-J
I said I'd hate to see it full of epic trance, because I wanted to make it clear people could vote for any type of EDM, and shouldn't be put off by trance votes.
