I've had a good thought about what I'm going to write here about all this, to try & mull things over.

I love spain, the country, the people, the culture, however in these sports there are problems, I don't know exactly what the reasons are. Maybe because Eto'o is African, and I know Spain has a lot of African immigrants, both legal & illegal. Maybe there is ill feeling about that, however the majority of african immigrants I've come across have always worked very hard & been very pleasant, be it in hotels, markets etc. This is in stark contrast to the vast numbers who come to the UK & Don't make an effort.

The reason I say that is that all the other black players were South Americans, bar Samuel. It's not acceptable, but it needs dealing wiht properly, not only in Spain, but Italy, Turkey, ex yugoslavian countries, bulgaria, romania, hungary, albania, greece, and most of souther & eastern Europe where many English players have been the subject of vile abuse.

We have had a lot of problems in England, 20 years ago, 10 years ago maybe, but the majority of black players now are treated as they should be, equals. There's been a few incidents, mainly with the asian players now, there's not too many coming through yet, but hopefully that will also change. We've overcome these problems through sheer hard work, and I know our FA would be more than happy to help any other countries who want help with it. It does need dealing with, and it does need it now. Not just Zaragoza but clubs worldwide.

well said Ian.

People in ex Yugoslavia hate each other so much and the hate becomes more and more violent. Serbia has always had major problems with the biggest derbys in the country, the ones between Crvena Zvezda which is my team and Partizan. Partizan and Crvena Zvezda hates each other very much and they're such rivals.

People on the Balkan has thought about starting a league together just to re-unite the teams and the supporters of each clubs. This is in my oppinion a very brave because it'll be big supporter-fights between serbs, muslims, and croatians. This hate has been there for a very long time and that's probably the biggest problem. People hate each other down there so much and there are groups who wants to kill their opponents just because they belong to another race.

Serbia vs. Bosnia and the opposite, when Bosnia played Serbia was two matches full of hate, 90 minutes + added time. Such a hatred.

Macedonia hates England very much and that's clearly being shown when they meet in Skopje. Turks hate England extremely much, that's something we all know.

There's such a rivality between those teams and it all bursts out into hate during the matches..

The problem is, a lot of the hate is political, and those footballers are not politicians, they're all people who love playing the same game.

Yep. All hate is political on Balkan, almost all anyways. We hate each other soooooo much. It's crazy.

It shouldn't belong to the game, but it does because people hate each other because of wars. It sucks.

hmm that would be interesting as the league would become fairly strong with teams like Hajduk Split and Dinamo Zagreb battling Partizan and Red Star. but yeah, it'd be some very tense matches

That's the biggest problem with trying to create a league like this one. The violence would probably take over pretty much and a lot of teams would be fined because of the teams violence. On the other hand, there's a league like this in Basketball for Balkan-teams called Good Year League which has become a pretty nice little league with some really nice teams.

Still, the league is having alot of problems with this kind of violence and I've seen stone being thrown at Crvena Zvezda-players when they once met Zadar. Even the players risking their lifes when they agree on something like this. But, people have to agree on the fact that stupid fans are destroying what was once the finest thing, the challenge to win and support your team to a wins. There's alot of things to do before you create something good.

Racism has been fazed out in alot of Italy actually but it is still very present most present of course in Rome.....they have taken serious actions though to these dispicible(sp) acts...it is much better than it was last year and the year before that and etc. I know most who are cought saying racist chants and racist banners etc in Milan are thrown out and most likely banned from the San Siro. Also the fans in the North for the most part are pretty sensible I was in Atlanta's stadium once and person to the next of us called one of the black players a monkey and then about 4 of the Inter fans all bollecked him.

Most of the racism comes in the south and poor areas of Italy which the Serie A is currently most looking at to get the racism out. Spain should do something about this to me it hasnt progressed that much. Last year England v Spain the black players where totally humiliated by racism which had me disgusted you would think after that something would happen....Spainish ppl can say there is no racism but that would be ignorant because its there and its a problem like it is in Italy and probably alot of europe.

This should stop. Fans should respect the players, just like fastmp3 respects the other fans' threads in this subforum. :stongue:

Seriously though, it's such a shame that this continues.

No funny Irectum

The comparison is. But what happened yesterday wasn't. I stopped watching the game after the start of the second half and didn't watch what happened. I didn't even watch the goals.

But today I saw the highlights and it's such a shame that it happened. This type of behavior by the fans just doesn't belong in football, or in any other sport for that matter.
