wtf is all this talk about Tiesto going behind labels and artists backs
There's TONS of whitelabels out like this one where the track couldnt be released coz of the band not willing to give out the needed permission and nobody ever cared about those
Now all of a sudden, when Tiesto releases his two mixes that people have been raving about for ages, its irresponsible to rip off other artists
For example... and this is a good one: Cass 'n Slide - Glad I Ate Her
Wasnt officially released coz it sampled Hans Zimmer's bits of Gladiator...
And how about the Leama & Moor Mixes on Nelly Furtado and Avril Lavigne
Not once did people talk about how awful it was that they got ripped off, and how much they should sue the producers of the whitelabeled remixes
Granted it IS in fact ripping off... but you're being a bit of a hypocrite
Either way... ofcourse Tiesto is involved... the point is that that cant be proven hence why it sees the light of day...
Im happy it gets released for one :) |

| the thing is that ppl _dont_ make a big thing of it when not so well known producers does this.. look at zoo djs .. their mixes of radiohead .. or on chemical brothers.. hydra - utopia .. there is lots of tracks out there that sounds exactly like another tune out there .. now becuase tiesto won the dj awards 2 years in row.. he has all the eyes on him.. i know what you guys need.. just listen to "Orkidea - Unity" the last minutes.. and you will understand :) peace! |

I'm not being hypocritical in the slightest ... i don't agree with any of these 'lesser names' being allowed to get away with it either.
For a name as big as Tiesto to go about doing it though i find highly irresponsible as it'll send out the wrong message to plenty of other artists. I'm sure if someone ripped off one of Tiesto's tracks and then get it pressed his legal team would come down on them like a tonne of bricks. |

Geez, all I asked was what you meant by "official white label"...it seems like an oxymoron. No need for the hostility.
Mr. Mystery did a pretty good job clarifying what I said, but first off all no one has given a concrete source for the info other than MClarke saying it was from "a trustworthy source." The remixes in question were not approved for release by the original artists...so can you blame me for questioning the validity of this information? Yes, there have been countless of unauthorized remixes released on white labels, including remixes of Radiohead and Madonna tracks, but given the fact that we know the Street Spirit cd was stolen from Cor Fijneman and that there is a reconstruct of the Die Another Day remix circulating, it is not unlikely to wonder how legit this record is. And if it is the real deal pressed by Tiesto himself, then I have no problem picking up a copy even though he is doing this without the artists' consent. I would much rather pay $10-15 for a record that has the original remix that Tiesto did himself and buy other Radiohead records to support them than pay for a bootleg rip pressed to vinyl. |

you must be taking the piss. Madonna & Radioheads records will outsell tiesto 1000 times over, they do not need any help shifting their records from some dj. :o I think you have an over inflated view of how popular 'trance' actually is. |
