never ever draft a QB round 1... it's RB, WR first as there're only a few bonafide impact players at those positions |

You can never say never. Take for instance having the 10th pick in next year's draft and 8 RB's are drafted ahead of you. You can settle for a mid-tier guy or you can draft Peyton Manning. I'd think about that one.
But for the most part, I agree. You have to load up on RB's in the early stages. They are harder to come by. |

if u're later in the first round then fine, your position dictates a lot about where u draft. but any QB can have a breakout year if you think about it... drew brees is picked up off waivers in our league. only a few QBs have the personnel available to them that you want them in the first round. and you rarely find a QB that can stay healthy all year like manning or favre. i don't think it's wise to draft QBs that early because of that.
RBs... u have priest, LT, curtis martin this year, deuce if he wasn't hurt... the edge, alexander. those guys are creme of the crop consistently for RBs. u now will have some up and coming players in willis mcgahee and julius jones, but there're very very few premier running backs who'll get you a TD every single week for fantasy purposes.
same goes for WR. u have TO, marvin harrison, and randy moss... those three guys i feel are the top WR and again they'll get theirs almost every single week. i'd put holt or bruce in there but their coach is an idiot and i don't know if they could be doing better with another coach :p
my point is this... QBs always have the balls in their hands and will rack up the requisite yardage and (most of the time) TDs every week. it's even harder to find players that can do that at the other skill positions.
/edit
unless u're in a league like mine, where this past weekend's matchup resulted in negative point totals for both QBs (jake plummer with approx -2 and drew brees with negative 0.something) |

Yeah, I've never done a keeper league. Much different strategy. You don't have to hint at Julius Jones in that league, it will be pretty evident.
I'm down.
About QB's... think about Matt Hasselbeck who was considered a 3-4 rnd pick this year but has been a waste for the most part. Most imporantly, there's a bigger gap between the 5th best RB and the 15th best RB in comparison to the 5th best QB and the 15th best.
But it's all relative to positioning and how your other owners draft too. |
