Come on Graham, you know full well that flagrant disregard for the law is not a legitimate form of political protest. You're not getting your "message" across to anyone that way - you're just inconveniencing other clubbers and generally being a rude pain in the ass.

You're using protest as a lame excuse for an attitude that is truthfully more like "if I can't do it legally then I'll do it illegally". Which may be fine in some cases, but when it's directly affecting your peers, it's not.

So let's break out some honesty here. How about addressing your objections to your local MPP, instead of the choking faces of clubbers who are trying to have a good time.

Ever think that maybe THE SMOKERS are the ones getting inconvenienced here? First we're told that if we want to have a smoke, we have to go outside. Now we're being told, that if we want to smoke, we have to freeze our asses off.

I'm tired of hearing about the poor non-smokers being inconvenienced. Just because we smoke, doesn't mean our concerns should be thrown out the window.

I'm usually very considerate and respectful of other people. But you know what? This time I really don't care. I also don't care if it's not "a legitimate form of political process", that's not what I'm trying to accomplish here. All I want to do is having a ing smoke! I don't smoke often enough to go through the unbelievably useless process of repeted calls to my MPP.

I'm trying to have a good time too. But I can't bloody well have a good time when I'm freezing my skinny ass off outside in -40 degree weather trying to choke back my cancer stick now can I?

So you are equating your inconvenience by not being able to smoke with the inconvenience of a non-smoker of getting toxic smoke blown in his face?

Great logic, you're a patriot.

As for your statement about not caring whether or not it's a legitimate form of political protest, you were the one who said you'd be "protesting" the law by smoking in the club. That's not a ing protest, that's just crude disrespect.

what ehs trying to say is, cos of the few times he itches for a smoke, he should not have to sacrifice freezing his nuts in teh cold, nor stay without one at all in the club in which case brings down his fun factor...

Silly Aaron. Always taking other people's premises and drawing twisted conclusions in order to make their arguments sound weak. That bull doesn't work on me.

What I'm saying is as a casual smoker, I have not been taken into consideration in one step of this legislative process and I am ing fed up with it! I would be more than happy to smoke in any area where I do not have to freeze my ass off. But according to this legislation, these places are not allowed to exist. This law is not about "inconvenience" or work place safety, it's a blatant ploy to get people to stop smoking. Well I am not going to stop, and I am not going to freeze my ass off. If you have a better suggestion, kindly feel free to enlighten me.

A poor choice of words then, perhaps.

Since you're upset with the legislative process, my suggestion would be the same suggestion I made earlier - write to your MPP, or take part in some legitimate protest. Don't just break the law.

The "I'm only a casual smoker so I don't feel like wasting my time protesting" isn't really a valid argument, and I'm sure you can see why.

Valid or not, it's not sensible. I'm not going to go through that process for something I partake in very rarely.

And don't patronize me with this "don't break the law" . You've got to be kidding me right?

How does the frequency with which you partake in it have anything whatsoever to do with your form of protest? You still haven't made any justification for that argument.

I suppose we all should follow that approach then. I'm not really crazy about the stop sign at my intersection, but it's not worth actually protesting if I only SOMETIMES decide not to stop. :haha:

good!

people shouldnt smoke. yeah yeah . you can do what you want crap but bottom line is it unhealthy. And you cant control where the smoke goes so when around others who dont smoke. its ghey.

if you wanted to have a seperate room. thats not so bad I suppose but I think people should stop smoking regardless .

I thought you were smarter than that. Let me make a change to your "stop sign" analogy to make it a little more relevant. If there's a stop sign that inconveniences you about once every one or two months, are you going to waste your time harassing your MPP about it? I highly doubt it.
