people shouldnt smoke. yeah yeah . you can do what you want crap but bottom line is it unhealthy. |
So? Why are you worrying if it's unhealthy for me? Are you concerened for each person that eats in McDonalds because it's unhealthy for them? I doubt it. And if you do, you have some problems.
I laugh at these people who are "genuinely worried" about smokers' health. It's just that smokers have been crucified by the general public, and everyone feels they have the right to patronize smokers about their habit. |

nah don't worry.
just go out in the -40 freezing cold and smoke.
once you got the worst cold/flu in your life, then just sue the government, beacause they "forced" you to go out and smoke in that deadly conditions! it's that simple ;) |

I thought you were smarter than that. Let me make a change to your "stop sign" analogy to make it a little more relevant. If there's a stop sign that inconveniences you about once every one or two months, are you going to waste your time harassing your MPP about it? I highly doubt it. |
No, I wouldn't waste my time harassing my MPP about it, but I wouldn't say it and fly through the intersection either. ;) |

well you cant control where the smoke goes... but like I said a seperate room isnt so bad.
but yes I think you shoudl all quit. its ing lame. plain and simple. And obviously I know its your choice. . doesnt make it any cooler, or healthier. I think its a good idea for the gov to step in to try and save some people.(yes, it will save lives) |

The possible end result of going through the stop sign (hitting a pedestrian or another car) is significantly worse than the possible end result of smoking in a club (a ticket). |

Uh huh, and what about, say, speeding on a highway? We all know that the speed limits are deliberately underposted and that it's safe to drive 140 or so, but does that make it OK? |

Yet you aren't giving others a choice when you smoke indoors. |

That's quite the slippery slope. |

And what about taking drugs? ;) |

Taking drugs doesn't have any negative effects on other people. Unless you get crazy with them, in which case I'd argue that it's as bad as anything else in this thread.
Speeding on the highway is a perfect example, because the "possible end result" is exactly the same - a ticket. And while you might pose a *slight* danger to other people on the road, the biggest danger is to yourself if you're not careful/responsible. So does that mean that if you only occasionally feel like speeding, you should just do it, instead of doing something productive and lobbying to have the speed limits changed? |
