i am speaking on behalf of all girlfriends/wives when i say this.
whenever your woman is more than OK with you going on a trip with "the boys" or anything of that nature, it's because she has plans of her own;)

We decided a while back that we would take one vacation a year seperately and one together. |

I work for a company who manages all inclusive resorts in the Bahamas, Jamaica, Brazil, Dominican Republic, & Curacao (Netherlands Antilles) Our Canada office does the trips to Cuba because the owner owns resorts there but we just can't sell things there because you know the US & Cuba crap.
I do accounts payable. We usually do fam trips, in other words company trips, to the resorts for free.
But our benefits are awesome, if we go on vacation we only pay $50 a night to stay in the resorts...it's all inclusive so you get all the LIQUOR you want including food.
The Bahamas was fun, I stayed drinking the entire time :p
The best resorts are Hedonism 2 & 3...wild stuff...a nude side & a PRUDE side :stongue:

Did I mention I have the best wife ever? The conversation went kind of like this...
me - "so Scott and I were talking today about WMC"
wife - "what's that?"
me - "it's a big music festival down in Miami every March. They more or less get all the top DJs in Miami and..."(interupted)
wife - "how much would it cost?"
me - "I'm not sure.... maybe $500 for tickets, cover, drinks, hotel, etc"
Wife - "So when are you going?"
me - "I didn't say that I was."
wife - "are you kidding? you'll love that! When is it?"
me - "march.... I don't know the exact dates."
***** 5 minutes later *****
wife - "so, what are the chances I'd be able to go to Cuba with my girlfiends in March?" |

D00d, Cuba kicks ass! When you're on a resort in Cuba it's just like any other Carribean island, you don't notice the communism or poverty at all (except when talking to the staff). The resorts are comperable to Jamaca or the Domnican. The people down there absolutely love Canadians (primarilly because we aren't Americans but also because Canada and Cuba have had freindly diplomatic relations since the 1960s... In fact, Castro was at Pierre Trudeau's, our former PM, funeral a few years back.... they were fairly close friends). Best of all it is VERY VERY cheap. Since the US doesn't trade with Cuba and Americans can't go there they are starved for money so vacations are cheap to draw as many people as possible. A week at a 4-5 star all inclusive in Cuba with air will run about $500 (CND) compared to $800-1,000 for the same in Dominican Republic. |

Yeah, it's a great cheap vacation. I know a few Americans that have gone to Cuba as well but in order to do so you have to fly out of Canada. Cool thing is that if you ask the Cubans won't stamp your passport so you don't have to worry about your own immigration department pulling you aside and asking a bunch of questions when you come back. |
