1st curtain flash fires the flash straight away and then exposes for a while. Thats makes the trails appear over the person in the pic.
2nd curtain flash is better for this. It exposes the picture THEN sets off the flash. Making the trails appear behind the person. Much better for clubbing pics IMO. |
Right, I understand both. Dragging the shutter, as Ive been taught, is terminology for both methods.
I have to say that I like using 2nd curtain much more, especially when people are moving/dancing/etc... |
