wrong. i like portraits. i like photographing people. that's why i post pictures of my friends and boyfriend. most of the solo pictures were posted when i was either grounded with nothing to do or just bored. it's a hobby. i wouldn't characterize myself as vain. the pictures aren't about me, they're about what i can capture in a pic.
i never said that, and i don't dislike you, i just don't think i did anything directly to you to warrant that.

apparently, but my point is that i shouldn't have to. i don't think that people should invade my privacy like that. just because it's easy doesn't mean it's right.

now that i'm older, my self-esteem does come from within, but when i was 14/15 and had been raped recently, you can't exactly believe that you're beautiful and you didn't do anything wrong.
essentially, you feel like your sexuality is the only redeeming quality you posess, but that in itself is disgusting too. you feel worthless. someone took something away from you, completely violated your body, and made you feel like a sordid piece of meat. and then you start to think that those men are the only men you will ever attract. no one will ever love you because your body is vile now. no one will ever appreciate any other good qualities you may have because that's not what you're good for. you're good for ing, and that's it.
i'm not ashamed to admit that people on TA helped me get past that. why should i be? i'm just overjoyed that i don't feel that way anymore.
now, i love myself and know that i'm a good person and have many qualities that i know other people can appreciate. why is it a bad thing that TA helped me get to this point? |

Sorry Princess, I'm just thought it was funny to post "I'm not vain" followed by "I love myself". I don't believe you to be vain, I was just playing with words and connotations. BTW, vain means you are concerned about how people perceive you and how you perceive yourself, not that you believe yourself to be better then other people. |

Your hobby is taking pictures of yourself and we have seen much evidence to prove it. I would think the 100 pictures of yourself are about yourself and how you can capture yourself in a picture, 100 times no less. Unless you can clearly explain to me how a picture of you is really not about you, I would say that this is excessive enough to qualify as as vanity. You have already shown that the pictures are even more about yourself than what is on the surface by stating that people complimenting them makes YOU feel better about yourself.

In a perfect world you wouldn't have to. I don't think i'd consider private what anyone can find or view by changing the number at the end of the picture. I mean, if you wanted to keep something private, why not keep it off the internet? In a safe place? It's obviously not in a safe place right now.

You don't need to be. But you might want to learn in order to prevent similar things from happenning in the future!

I suppose it is a matter of interpretation then because that definition could include either of the realities Pro and I described. Just because one is "excessively proud" does not necessarally follow that they believe themselves to be superior.
