Didn't know this thread existed but.....
MO was the first trance DJ I have ever heard live...my ex from Toronto brought me to guv, and at the time I hated "TECHNO" lol....so I was pissed about going but had one of the best nights EVER.
.....I had such an amaxing time that summer, frequenting guv and listening to ONLY Mark oliver....I never saw any other DJ till Tiesto the next year. SO I have to give the man a lot of credit for changing a big part of my life for the better. :tongue2 |

Has anyone ever gone to Viva to see him spin? I remember him spinning at Fever, old school days. Like ten years ago.

I have seen him spin there many times... Its always disappointing to me the number of TAs that leave Viva though the SECOND he comes on and the headliner leaves.
Its so unfortunate and wrecks my vibe. :( wish ppl (many/most TAs) would stay for him there like they will at Guvvy!
But, IMO, mark plays far better at Guv, esp closing!!
Kinda like Deko-ze plays his best (hands down no questions asked) at the Zone |

| Admittedly I've only ever heard MO spin a few times, but the best set I've heard from him was when he closed after Blank and Jones, and (if I remember correctly) I was quite disappointed with his housey sound during his opening performance at LOL. |

One of my favorite sets to this day. I prefer it over AvB's boundaries of imagination, and that's saying alot. It was my first Trance CD I bought, because I couldn't find it on Napster :p
I remember 'TAPING' :toothless his sets from 1groove-89.5 back in the days. Still have those tapes around and give them a listen for nostalgia.
Much props to Mark for holding it down for so long. |

| Mark was a HUGE part of the building process here in Windsor when it comes to EDM - Not only would the Boom Boom Room not be what it is without Mark Oliver but the entire windsor scene has to give Mark a ton of props, together we helped build something special where no one would believe it belonged, mark is the man and will be here next week on wed as he has been for the past 3yrs, my dream would be to have mark here rockin away a sat night. MO is the man... |
