Since i went a little over board with tiesto...i had made myself a promise to stay away from the extra curicular activities....

So i did, and do you notice a diffence, especially the heat....it hit me pretty hard...so my poor little legs couldn't take anymore nor could i drink water fast enough to cool my system....i left at 530...

sean miller again had a dynamite set...couple notables from his set was 16b feat Morel - Driving to Heaven (sounded amazing on there system), and the aroud the second last track b4 satoshi came on (can't remeber the name) but it literaly stopped me in my tracks...blew my mind

Satoshi was rocking from what i heard for an hour an half...banging tracks...had everyone on the dance floor just grooving...did't really see one person just standing there...he had the place going nuts

Good Vibe...Overall had a great time for the 3 or so hours i was there....didn't get a chance to get to the TA spot to see....needed some place to stand where i had the option to sit...but Frank managed to get his rounds, kenny nice to see both of you like always!

I had promised my sister I'd cut/transport/lay down some carpet for her basement today, so I was forced to leave at just passed 8. Really quite a shame, Satoshi was really kicking it from 6 till the time I left, the crowd was really into it as well, it was still 3/4 full at that time.

Another great party!

Met Diginut in the line at about 1:30 and it took us about 15 minutes to get in. I left my coat in the car - as I always do for Boa events. Smart move if I do say so myself. :tongue3

Walked in the place was filling up quite nicely and already it was getting hot in there.

Sean Miller played an great opening set. Was listening to your CD on the way home and it sounded pretty good as well. (Thanks Jeff!)

Satoshi came on at about 4 and immediately was playing some really nice tracks. At about 6:00 or so he seemed to be turning it up a notch, and by about 6:30 he was just blowing me away. But I was just TOOO tired, legs were sore and I had to bail at 7:05. I'm guessing the last 2-3 hours were just .

Saw many familiar friendly faces and also met some new ones over the course of the night. Nice to meet for the first time Sly_Guy, Little John and gf Stephanie (lurker :toothless) and psyrel's sister (sorry I can't remember your name). 'Twas also a pleasure partying it up with Erin. ;)

Can't to party it up with all of you soon. :)

I'll post a review later. :)

As a forewarning to everyone reading this thread - you're going to hear some negative reviews. I've already talked to more than a few people who didn't really enjoy the set.

I thought both Sean Miller and Satoshi Tomiie were absolutely stellar. As for the latter, yes, his set did start off somewhat slow and mellow, but really that's typical of a Satoshi set for anybody who has been listening to his recent work. He was just warming up at about 6 am, which is when he really started to lay it down hard and it just kept getting better and better throughout the night (day?).

I had planned to take off at 7. I couldn't force myself to leave until a quarter past 9. Every time I thought I was finally spent, he would pump out another sick track that would get me moving again. There seemed to be almost limitless energy on the dance floor right up until the end. Everyone who left early missed out on the best part of the night, because, as tends to be the case with all great party nights, the energy kept on building throughout the night, rather than peaking at about 4 am and gradually dying off. And I don't just mean the energy of the set, but the energy of the crowd too. Basically, Satoshi started out with a lot of dark druggy progressive tracks (like Mathew Jonson - Decompression) and worked his way up to the harder, chunkier progressive and tribal tracks interspersed with the occasional little bit of funk. I thought he seemed totally into it; he may not have been jumping up and down the whole night but he was definitely, DEFINITELY reading the crowd.

Having said that, I have a few complaints. The place was definitely not overpacked, but for some reason the heat inside seemed excessive. I found myself having more trouble than usual breathing, and a couple of times I actually felt faint. Part of the problem was probably the smokers on the upper floor - guys, you REALLY NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. I know that Boa takes a certain amount of pride in not being a bunch of stuck-up control freaks obsessed with rules, but the smoke puts a real damper on the party for many people. You could SEE all the smoke in the air just by looking at the beams from the club's lighting. Also, I can deal with no paper towel in the bathrooms, but two of the taps weren't working since the *beginning* of the night - come on guys, you don't want us walking out of there with peepee fingers do you? :) (and for the record, I didn't go out with peepee fingers, I went downstairs and used the tap there).

Looks like several people left at about the same time I did. We've got some definite troopers, staying out past 9:30. Did anyone close the party? How was the last hour or so? I really wanted to be there when the lights went on, but it just wasn't happening.

P.S. On a personal note, if I seemed irritable or antisocial to anyone I apologize for that. Some days you get the elevator, some days you get the shaft. Last night I got the shaft - and in more orifices than I was adequately prepared for. Hopefully none of you noticed, probably none of you care, but I just thought I'd add that in as a postscript. :)

Oh, and seeing as how a lot of lurkers/unknowns were there, I was in khakis in front of the railing most of the night (the "spot") with the 'fro. Come say hi next time, I don't bite. :)

all right boys... as much as I loved Satoshi a year or two ago, seeing him this time around was not even close to what I heard from him the last few times I saw him. Needless to say that he didn't satisfy...

Sean Miller's last hour was a killer... and if only Satoshi picked up on that rhythm, that would've been awesome (that tribal/progressive beat). But no, he went slow, dark, druggy/acidy route, and then hit us with some hard beats that were not groovy, danceable at all. Did he assume that everyone was on drugs in the club or something? I hung around until 6:30, and by then he only played a hanfull of tracks that got me moving. Everything else was not even close to twisted I was so expecting of hearing (DDTT?). Conclusion - Satoshi's gone mental. Oh well, at least Chus & Ceballos are coming back soon ;)

As for the guestlist, I tried getting on the Club 246 list for free (being sort of put on the free admissions list) only to hear from Erica that "club246 guys screwed her up big time" for that list or whatever, and she couldn't offer the free admission at all. So I'm like "WTF?! Now you tell me..." And regarding the guest list for Boa, I still can't figure out how is the guestlist lineup always longer than the regular lineup, and even tho you get "reduced" cover or whatever everyone that walks into the club pays the same amount. And all that line by-pass? I've been to Boa enough times to figure out it's all bunch of , cuz if you have a few hundred people waiting in guestlist lineup with by-pass entry, what's the point? :D Boa's gotta take care of that somehow...

Racheal Starr - Till there was you

that Mr. Miller played in the opening set, can they let me know about it?

Miss Julia,

Your friend punk'd off my bottle of water! :whip: But you probably needed it more than I did? Oh well, hope everything was okay. :)

Yeah, I bailed early (of course) but I have to say, Sean Miller and whatever I heard from Satoshi's set was awesome! Oh yeah, and nothing beats the feeling of walking into the club and hearing Solaris Heights' "Midnight" on the System!!! :D Awesome track!

All in all, great to see the TAs out in OUR "spot" :D

Thanks to Jeff for g/l and the CD
