Wow! That's very sad. This happened right in front of my gym and I go there every day.
I am glad I wasn't there...
This kind of thing haunts you mind for a while. I feel bad for whoever was there and had to witness this. |

| Sorry - a bit off topic...is that Bally's you're talking about? How is it? |
|
|

Yup, it's the Bally's on the 5ht floor. IMO the best gym in TO. They have all the machines I need, great personnel, and people are generally cool.
Plus, I get to setup a sound system every time they have an event and spin for the people.
Great vibe.
If you ever need a deal, PM me, I can hook it up. |

But thanks for the offer I really appreciate it :D |

| He may have done it in a busy public place in the hope that someone would stop him before he completed it. |

There's nothing in the news about this;
Just heard from my sister that around 5:05pm someone threw himself from the third floor inside the Eaton centre and was blown to peices..,,,
The sad thing is she was 3 feet away from it when this happend!
and still i don't see anything on the news!!
or the net!!!
anyone?!!? |
Usually Newsrooms have a policy to not give coverage to suicides, that's why you never hear about jumpers on the ttc or anything like that. That's probably what's happening here.
Terrible though. |

I disagree with this. Your life is your life, so do with it what you will. If u wanna commit suidcide, thats your choice bc its your life adn you're the one who has to live it
|
I don't think its simply your life and you alone can choose to end it or not. Not from a religious point of view, but the impact your choice has on other people. Of course people who commit suicide arn't in the right state of mind to make rational decisions, but that doesn't make it ok to leave their friends and family behind.
And they don't leave them behind, they leave them behind to pick up peices of their lives as well. Suicide is a quick fix to the person's problems, but it does more pain to those that were close to them.
And its very true that its our job and duty to help friends and others in need. |

your life is your life.
i think that someone has the right to take thier life if they dont think its worth living.
if you go into some cave and blow your brains out alone then thats cool, pupic suicides are just plain dumb.
most people that dont understand why people do it have good lives, not everyone has a perfect life and some people just dont want to live anymore. life can be good in many ways if you are fortunate, but to say that someone is selfish to take their life is wrong, it's also selfish to force someone that doesnt want to live only to live to please you.
the only thing in life with a 100% probability is that we are all going to die. if someone wants to die a bit sooner coz they think life is not worth living then so be it.
its hard to judge suicidal people if you have never been in a similar state of mind. life has many beautiful things and it also has many ugly things, it all depends on which of the two you encounter more.
suicide is a very complicated subject, everyone is different so what hurts or affects person A may not necessarily affect or hurt person B in the same way. i dont think people should be so quick to judge and be angry at people that commit or attempt suicide but instead should think about the reasons why such an act took place.

That is just depressing!!!!!!
People should seek HELP before doing that!!!! What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. |

Are you for real? :wtf:
No morals at all?
I really kinda thought it was straight forward but you asked...
1. It's unnatural. Life should be lived to it's fullest, natural extent. You'll never know the impact you could have on another life or beautiful experiences that await around the corner by ending it.
2. The person commiting the act is putting themself before others; their needs are more important than the needs of the people they are leaving behind.
3. It's an easy cop out on life; LIFE WILL HAVE PROBLEMS; they pass their problem(s) to others rather than sharing the burden to try and solve the problem(s). In this day and age there is no excuse for not trying or going to someone for help. There are TONS of resources they could have tried before their decision.
4. They are not thinking clearly; they need help. Their view is that by escaping their suffering their problem(s) goes away.
5. We need to be more vigilate with our friends and family. There is nothing wrong with a strong network of friends and family; they will be your safey net and pull you back up when life tries to knock you down.
You may think after reading that, that I'm not a compassionate person; nothing could be further from the truth.
I like to think that I have servant's heart; always willing to help when needed or called upon.
But if they don't give you the choice to help and steal it by not giving you an opportunity then I have a problem and begin to question myself.
Did I do enough? Was I listening enough? Could I have done more.
Questions that will never have answers...
I hope that helps to explain where I'm comin' from. :toocool:
Now go dance like noone's watching... :D |
