WHOLLY !:eyespop: :eyespop:

DigiNut, dude, you're a god with words. That's exactly ing it. The entire part about ppl "sugar coating life" etc... im right there on the exact same page as you. And i WHOLE-HEARTEDLY think that ppl should just see reality as it is and n deal with it on THAT level... that's the way I take life (as an atheist) and i find all kinds of good out there too... i dont need to sugar coat my existance to get by.

Bc Bad DOES happen and ppl should deal with it.

How incomprehensible that anyone would do this....it's definately a cry for help or perhaps the guy was helped with his leap. We'll never really know the answer to this :conf:

It seems as if January and February are always bad months for people.

Rabbitjoker speaks the truth.
I think some ppl should stop passing judgement. To me a person that judges others all the time is either highly insecure or is also crying out for help or attention.

I don't know about others but I know these next few months I'm going to make a point of being more empathetic. After all, it doesn't hurt for me to be this way....and I may even end up helping someone out. It's better than saying life is accept it. Why would anyone talk like that...How negative an input that must be for those that have to put up with this kind of an attitude about life...obviously someone didn't accept it, so they tried suicide.

If you got nothing positive to say or contribute....then it's best to keep your thought to yourself, rather than adding more of a burden

Ok, I'm not even going to try and reply to everything but I will respond and clear some air... :p

...at times we have to think about the person that wants to die and see whats best for them, you cant predict someones future, so who knows what tomorrow will bring, it could be better or it could be worse or it could be the same.

Kind of a bleak outlook on life isn't it?
Aw shucks, I'll just live out my life, not knowing where it's going...maybe tomorrow will be better...maybe a $1000 dollar bill will fall from the sky and make my day.
Um....ew?
Who wants to live like that?

Yes, you should take care of yourself too of course! :)
It is entirely possible that chemical imbalance does factor in, that is a fact. I know all about it. I have 2 uncles, my dad AND my grandfather who are all manic-depressants. Believe me, I lived through it for a lot of years and when I moved out, I was seriously questioning myself for years during my dark days considering it cares through the men in the family.
I did get some councelling and checkups...I'm fine now...
(I hang out here don't I?)

So in short, I understand where you’re comin’ from, but that does not affirm your point that suicide is wrong and downright deplorable. It only affirms that we understand why you are so opposed to it.

Which was my point anyways; there was no desire of sawying anybody's opinion.
I fully realize there are a lot of differences on a lot of subjects here; other than good music and a good time of course... :p

rabbitjoker
Pontification wasn't the intent.
More like, strong feelings with personal experience ;)

Nice post.
The basic primal thought of any life force to remain living.
It's my own personal biasing that finds it unthinkable; a machiavellian answer to a real hard question.

One might say even "impossible"

But one wont say that since it'd be off topic... LOL *shifts eyes from side to side checking for witnesses*

when you commit suicide, do you think you go to heaven or hell.

Really, the concept of an afterlife as it is stated in the Judeo-Christian bible is paradoxical and logically impossible. I won't get into it, but... suffice it to say that heaven and hell can't exist in the way they're described.

If you want to conjecture about things like reincarnation then I'll take an agnostic point of view, because at least it's plausible. Anything involving "eternity" runs into problems, though.

P.S. thanks for the kind words guys, I'm surprised that people actually read the post. :stongue:

nyways there's lots of suicides in toronto, at least once a week in the subway. and the famous suicide bridge is fenced off, cuz ppl just loved to dive off it.

You're right about the subway suicides and some of them survive....eww....Now that the Bloor bridge is fenced off there's always the Leaside bridge and other bridges in this city...THey'll have to fence them ALL now:rolleyes:

Well I take a kind of scientific point of view here & I think that we perhaps enter another dimension.I think that we are ALL special in our own unique way and that we are all...like....individual energies...so that when we die this energy changes into another form & maybe enters that other dimension......I know that all this sounds strange but I do believe that something awesome happpens that is WAY beyond our comprehension when we pass away...:eyespop:
