I didn't know this guy but by reading every post in this thread he was in very good company and sounded like an amazing human being.
R.I.P.

Very somber news.
Life and its realities are often hard to face. I will always remember Cinar as a friendly genuine person, always smiling. I revel in memories of great times with him behind the decks, enjoying his many mixes and his warm personality. I'm honoured that my life, if but for a short moment, crossed and has been affected by his. And I bet right now they are rocking DJ Sammy "Heaven" at his welcome party.
Rest In Peace Cinar, thank you for the memories.

I've been discussing this for hours w/friends today. Not much left to say except that he will be missed by many. He's touched so many lives.

The TOTA flag should fly at half mast today.
As everyone has already said. This is a sad day in the Toronto music scene. My heart goes out to his closest friends and family because Cinar was a great guy who was really friendly. I am glad that our paths have crossed several times.

i was told of his illness several weeks ago , and hoped that he would be able to come out of it. sadly this is not the case, and a fine, genuine, and great person has been lost.

TRC days, Toronto Rave Connection .. can you believe it's been that long ? This was the first place I saw Cinar post, before there was a TA. Unfortunately I didn't manage to make it to that party, but here's a flyer for it (one of the first parties that Cinar ever spun at):
TRC was also the place where I found out about Tranceaddict when Swamper started the site. Needless to say, Cinar shortly became one of the very first Tranceaddicts and always remained one till the very end.
Some of you might even recall an event that he co-organized and spun at which was one of the very first Tranceaddict events (ever).
He gave much of his time to promote and spread what he loved - trance music and all its variations. I had only met Cinar on certain occasions, one of which was likely my first time back in 2002 when John '00' Fleming played a gig at System Soundbar. Here is a pic taken from that night:
Cinar was later booked for numerous other events as well as some early Tranceaddict events co-organized by DJ Eso like en-Trance. He landed a residency at System Soundbar long before the renovations where John and I had the honour of having him spin at the first TA Invasion in the former VIP Room. Many of you recall the great times at the party especially when he dropped Culture Beat's - Mr. Vain.
He went onto promote events at the club even into his later days such as the "HEAR" series alongside Richard Raiban and others. Those are the best memories I have of him, and the memories I will take away when I think of Cinar Onat. Surely as Del said he left this world too soon, but when I look back I will recall someone who lived his life and enjoyed it to the fullest.
We've not only lost an intergral member of the Tranceaddict community, but a fine individual and DJ. Here was his final and last birthday thread posted on TA (back in June 2004).

Well, I'd like to first thank my parents for allowing me this one day. And second, I'd like to thank Paul - Thanks for coming to Toronto for my bday Paul. I know it was a big sacrifice but I dont care what they say about you man - your ALRIGHT.
