Wow....I'm sorry I never really got to know him.
He sounded like a great guy.

Cinar Onat was a close friend of mine. i met him at a mutual friends place several years ago. we were chilling, spinning & getting to know eachother until later on that night he asked me if i was interested in spinning with him on his internet radio show (www.woofur.com). from that day on we had built a great friendship. although we were always down eachothers throats battling which genre of music was better trance or prog we always respected one-anothers style & combined forces when we could to create magic on the dancefloor. Cinar was a true sweetheart always wanting the best for people. i recall him coming over to my place where we would enjoy the day & watch movies, mix & play with the cats. he was such an animal lover and tended to them as though they were his own. a great guy with an even GREATER HEART. i still cant believe he is gone but atleast now he will suffer no more & although he may not have realized it before he passed away......the end of this chapter in his life only means a new beginning in what lies ahead for this remarkable individual. he's in a better place now & i can move forward remembering what an impact he had in my life & will forever carry him with me until we meet again.

This is really sad and unexpected.
For those of us who are distant from the bigger cities and their clubs and raves, Cinar gave us a great introduction to the music.
I wish he had been able to make it out west for a club session. 29 is not enough.
My condolences to all who knew him.

I never had the honour of meeting Cinar, but I know those that were close to him. I have listed to several of his sets and he was truely a talented DJ.
Those that knew him, remember that he will always be there in spirit.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I first met Cinar when he applied for an internship at BPM:TV. His enthusiasm for the music and DJs was second to none. (You should have seen it when he met Tiesto. I think Tijs was scared, Cinar was so excited.) We became fast friends, and partied together (we'll always have "the underhand pass"), and on one occasion after Bad Boy Bill at System on a Saturday, I popped his Comfort Zone cherry. He got a full-on dose of the zone that day (he came back from the bathroom after seeing a security guy shove a clubber out the back door with no jacket in the middle of winter, and saw another getting dragged off to the "GIP" room). He told me when I danced I looked like water. Like a river flowing. He was really grateful and excited when I introduced him to Orin, and he began spinning in the side room at System shortly after that.
We lost touch after I got laid off from BPM, but when he was laid off, I was one person who understood how he felt. I helped him get a job at CTV, and enjoyed going for lunches with him again, and sending funny emails (in large letters he'd spell "WARD"), and hearing him "DJ" on the phone. His responses to questions he didn't want to answer? "Click - dooooooooooot." I still can't believe he's gone.
Werd to the Berd, my friend. Berd is the Werd. And you can be Shawn Vader if you want to be.
