OK, to me this sounds like he is hating on tiesto becaused he has taken the number 1 spot 3YEARS IN A ROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!O h well, that is how it is mr. PVD. The only place where he is #1 is in Asia LOL:haha: :haha: I dont know why he is saying that armin and tiesto are so commercial and cheesy just because they throw such big events and they are successful at it. I DIDNT KNOW BEIGN SUCCESSFUL MEANT BEING CHEESY NOW DAYSSS!!!!!!!!And also, how does he know the people that attend this events dont enjoy their shows???????? Lets be honest here, when you dont like something you never go back to it,right??so if people keep coming back, that means they are enjoying the stuff these djs are producing or playing. So as far as me, i tried to give pvd a chance on new year's eve and he totally blew it, he shows nolove, emotion or interest in what he is doing in any way shape or form.Honestly i would have rathered stay home and listen to the most cheesiest dance station in NY than going to his boring ass show.;) ;) |
where does paul mention tiesto? You must have arrived at that conclusion yourself, which means you must think he is cheezy... |

Tell me if I'm missing the sarcasm with what you just said. If there was no sarcasm, then...

If you look around, like some of my colleagues, they do things that, you know, I would hope music would never have to go through. I mean this music is not done for some cheesy concert , with some magician playing stuff, or some weird Mickey Mouse bull; this music is done for like clubs, it's done for events where people go out and want to listen to their music; and this is what music actually should be like. |

You talk/type like a ing spastic. And if you think Tiesto is the best DJ in the world then your more of an idiot than you are sounding in your posts. |

Paul's right to a certain extent.
He has always been an absolute music DJ, no pretexts or symbolisms in his music. PvD plays for the mere pleasure of the dancefloor without the pretentiousness of conveying a fictitious journey through the construction of the set. No bullting, just straight-up hi energy dancefloor music. Dance music is just that, dance music. Nothing else is needed. This is the crisp and clean German approach to edm.
In the other hand, Tiësto has always been a program music DJ. Ever since the early Forbidden Paradise and Magik days you could tell what Tijs was/is all about. He is a way more pretentious DJ in the sense that he tries to evoke a symbolic esoteric journey through track placement and pacing. Tiësto is all about energy and mood contrasts because he's always trying to tell a story. FP, Magik, ISOS, Revolution, Nyana....they all use the art of trance as a means for storytelling. This is more important than the actual 'dance' element of dance music for the Dutch trance philosophy that Tiësto leads. The pretentious kippenvel "magik journey" is the end for those means.
It's true that Disneyland events and mega-concerts with flashy magic shows are cheesy as , but hey, this is just a magnification of what Tiësto has always been about. It's actually part of Dutch nature....Gouda cheese, not Kraft....and I absolutely love it. :p
Tijs and PvD have always been my favorite DJs because they are both so unique and different that they complement each other in very good ways. It's kind of sad that Paul would diss Tijs like some gangstah rapper without really understanding where he's actually coming from though. |

This is a recording of a recent interview PVD did. I think it is completely an awesome interview and i am pleased to see Djs starting to speak their mind and show their thoughts about the music they love.
