I think more DJ's should be critial of each other instead of this ' alliance' which is 'good for business'. I think we need more people talking trash. Its good entertainment.

I would REALLY respect Paul Van Dyk if he:

1) Cut off Second Sun from VANDIT

2) Cut off NU NRG from VANDIT

3) Stopped playing mickey mouse trance in his sets.

If he did that than his 'critique' of tiestor and armins would carry more weight. Without these changes, its just people exchanging empty rhetoric.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH NU NRG NOW? :whip:

I Detesto Tiesto. sorry.

with that said, this whole rhetoric about him being #1 dj - bullcrap. means nothing. Tiesto was a sellout way before he became the #1 DJ. His music was always commercialized, crap - I heard his sh!t played at Best Buy, for chrissakes - not your typical "underground" music.

His fanbase consists of mainstream teenagers/30-somethings who think that listening to trance is cool and being a raver means you pop x pills and chill to tiestor. they also see the realm of EDM limited to the few lackluster dimwits who the PR machine find suitable to pitch at the moment.

I also think that tiesto looks like someone who would look good in nazi uniform...

This is ROFLS:

emc^2 : Your so full of its not even funny.

If tiestos stuff was commercial back then, so was armin. So was ferry and so was pvd

cause they all played identical tunes. Get your head out of your ass.

dude you got me in one.

I didnt draw my own opinions from seeing him......

You know nothing and that is reinforced from your sterotypical views on people that actually like Tiesto.

My Dad respects tiesto for what he has done even though he may not think he is good and hes been into the whole electronic thing before your dad even had the idea to your mother.

This site is going down the pan because its one big ego war.

Whatever happend to Peace, Love and Unity?

haha and this is coming from the geeza that made cheese fest 'For An Angel'.

imo xpander is a great song and for an angel is alright
torontotrance
For An Angel was not a cheese fest, you tard, he made it for 45RPM. It was a genius track dude. Now Paul van Dyk rarely speaks his mind as much as some deejays, like ing dave clarke. Paul van Dyk does speak his mind more than most of the pansy ass A list deejays. Paul realized how bad Nu Nrg was with their album and then Second Sun's album..lol. I will add that when you are as rich as he is, you can do what you want.
Aiwendil
for an angel was a cheesefest in 1994 and in 1998. the entire 45 rpm album sounds poorly produced even for the day's standards. either that or the tracks are so bad that they sound poorly produced.

Are you on crack?

As if you could make a CD like 45rpm? As if you could make better?. How is it poorly produced, it was ahead of its time. When you make better, then you come back and then you talk trash, till then...stfu

yeah it was ahead of its time. pvd was already raping trance before everyone else decided to. which is strange since voov coproduced most of the tracks, and he acually made good tracks.

This may be a little off flow for this thread but eh.....
Why not be thankful that people like pvd and tiesto are largely responsible for bringing new fans to edm music? When I first started listening all I knew were names like tiesto, oceanlab, armin van burren, paul van dyk, etc. I never knew that producers like James Holden, Sasha, Bt, Chicane, Vector 13, Thrillseekers, Marco V, etc even existed. Maybe where you live things are different but here in Portland Oregon I am grateful for the mainstream "cookie cutter" trance because its what will draw people to the music and the scene. Plain and simple - people arent as open to and probably have never heard of most of the stuff that trance "gurus" consider to be good. For me and most people I know edm is like an acquired taste....you need to sample different types to find out what you like. And initially people are going to like whats popular and mainstream. Now that I have been exposed to many many different producers and genres of edm I can appreciate the lesser known and mainstream ones alike. This might not be the "cool" or "underground i am better than you" thing to do but who really gives a . The over-egotistical ultra undergroud breed in any genre of music (that I know) are just angry nerds who have suck ass lives and need a girlfriend who they probably cant get because they are overly cynical anger cases. Pride/egos are foolish and make you look like a fool 11 times out of 10 --- ask any woman. Trancers I see flaming others taste on here often times in my opinion have horrid taste themselves but I never have seen a reason to bash them because where will it get me? I listen to the tracks in their signatures and wonder WTF how can you listen to this but then I realize its just what one person prefers and thats not so hard to understand. In all honesty though I am just grateful they are here contributing to the trance scene even if it is in a negative way because it is a scene I love and wish could grow more than anything where I live. Just relax and chill out or something and have a shot of green dragon like im about to have..... make that 2 shots actually :thepirate
