| I heard on the radio that the two most serious charges (importing and trafficking) have been dropped. The only charge that remains is possession which carries max. 10 years. Still a couple of hours to go but. |

| isn't it just an ego trip for the judge to take 80 pages to say guilty or not to a few charges? By all means explain the judgement for those who care afterwards, but annouce the decision up front, since that's all that most people care about. |

yeah, i agree. judges summations should be after, if anyone gives a toss. leaving someone to sit there for 80 pages whilst their life hangs in the balance is a bit cruel imo. |

verdict now...she's been asked to stand.
1. guilty of importation of a schedule 1 narcotic
2. 20 years with a fine of 100,000,000 rupia (if not paid, an additional 6 months added)
3. time in detention will be deducted
4. defendant to remain in prison
5. the evidence of the boogie board bag and flippers and plastic bags containing 4.1kg of marijuana will be conviscated and destroyed
Guilty or not guilt, anyone with any sort of compassion would feel sad. :( |
