| haha ive met a handfull of djs and producers. haha given some arent the brightest crayon in the box but i guess you dont ahve to be if your good at one thing. as far as tiesto goes lol ive never seen him be a prick left a few voicemails on ym friends phone when he couldnt make a show. at a houston show once there were these drunk bitches dancing on the railing in front of him and they kept making the record skip and he just laughed and kept on. |

Actually that reminds me: I heard Tiësto was booked to play at the DJ Mag Top 100 party in 2004 (to celebrate him being number one again) but didn't turn up and only let them know about half an hour before the event started, giving no reason.
Pretty harsh since it was their poll that made him so famous in the first place. |

this is the story.
he was doing TIC2 the same weekend there were technical difficulties so he stayed on to get them sorted.
he phoned at 6pm some 3 hours before the djmag party started, they then presented the award to him the following day at TIC2.
25,000 people or 2,000? |

If it wasn't for the DJ Mag poll those 25,000 people wouldn't be there. And so was Tiësto head of the technical team for TIC2 then? |

Nah... I'm pretty sure he wasn't legit... he was dressed like a bum, drunk off his ass, grabbing his crotch, slurring, etc.... the guys at the club did know who he was... he is a "regular" apparently. |

It means a lot more to be on that top 100 than people think..
First off, it means a load to promoters. It's very hard to get booked in the UK if you're not a top 100, for example.
Second, it means more to the big crowd rather than people in the know, so to speak. People here at tranceaddict know their music a lot better than most, so while it may not matter here, it does to the general public.
Edit: as for Tiesto, I would have done the same thing. To him, obviously his own party with 25,000 of his own fans is more important than a mixed crowd of 2,500.. It goes without saying. |

Misja Helsloot refused to get his picture taken (after an unfortunate incident at the club he left abruptly) - it doesen't mean he's not a nice guy, it just means he gets mad easialy!
