But I must say the coolest DJ I have ever met was Christopher Lawrence with Ferry coming in a close second...great guys both of them.

Thee-o (local in LA forever) has said the same thing that lawrence has to be one of the nicest ppl hes ever met.

and yes I understand that djs have bad days and this thread wasnt meant for going crazy and saying djs are a**holes but just to get a few laughs here and there :)

Ive heard nothing but great things bout Ferry my sis met him a while back in NY and he was their about 2hours before his performance just mingling with the fans and ended up having bout an hour long conversation with my sis said he really cares about his fans:)

Oakey is pretty friendly when he's drugged up and on coke. I saw him at the Armin Only party at the Ocean Diva (the Ocean Diva even stopped especially to pick up Mr. Oakenfold (It's a partyboat)). He talked friendly to the people from NLTA. He was with an AWFULLY young girl though!

Actually I never had bad experiences with DJ's. Cannot recall one. But maybe that's because I'm female or something....

Oakie was walking through some big double swinging doors which one of my brohters females mates was dancing in front of, and he slammed the doors open and knocked her over, then instead of helping her up or apologising, he stood there and laughed at her (he was prolly coked up real good).

My brother was having none of that and socked him one (not realising it was Oakie).

Bouncers soon threw my brother out and my brother got banned.

He ran into him again at a social type party a few months later in london and Oakie had a go at him whilst pissed. He twatted him again and walked out the party.

My brother = legend! :D

sasha, was a prick in a way, he wanted my girl to stand and wait for an autograph for 5 hours when he could have taken the 2.2 seconds to sign the vinyl. he didn't even tell her directly, he told his cohort who just held up 5 fingers. thus, we kept thinking 5 mins. anyway, we left the club without his john handbecause we needed to leave abruptly. in my opinion he could have signed it since it was vinyl by him that she paid for... 5 hours waiting? come on ... -

I really don't get people who want to wait hours and hours for just an autograph, a photo, or a drop of nutsack-sweat from a DJ (or any 'celeb' for that matter).. In general.

my answer was "all major record stores" actually.

i give out (through my wonderful assistant lisa) plenty of free cd's as anyone can attest.

its all about how you ask someone. if they want to book me then they shouldn't need a promo cd now should they?.

"hi we want to book you but have no idea what you sound like" haha

either way catch anyone on a bad night and yes, they will rub you the wrong way

Thanks for that explanation. Of course until now, I had only heard their side of things. Its nice to hear the other side. And my friends were indeed very familiar with your music Max, they were just asking for a CD or something in the chance that you had some new material, but more so for conversation sake, to shoot the with you, etc. I can see though how somebody asking you for a free CD could rub you the wrong way as I'm sure you get that quite a bit and I bet it gets old really fast. Anyways, thanks for the response. :)

smell what you like, it's all true, these kind of things happen when you live in london, I've had my arse grabbed by Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) at a house night back in 2003 and ran into Patrick Stewart (Captain Jean Luc Picard offa STTNG) in a corner shop when leaving a afternoon club session just last year
