Dj's that arent such nice guys.. (pg. 4)

| Max Graham was extremely rude to 2 of my friends, one of which throws shows and is a promoter, when they approached him at a show in Vegas asking for a promo. They introduced themselves, stated what they did and were interested in booking him, and asked for a promo or a CD and he was like, "Uhhh yeah, go buy one." Again it was explained that my friend was a promoter, who actually throws big parties by the way, and they just wanted to get his info, hear his latest CD, etc, and again, he was like, "Like I told you, go buy one" and just snubbed them off. Pretty in rude if you ask me. Maybe he was having a bad night... |

It wasn't a dream, tis a true story :)
Something along the lines of he was f'd out of his mind, and had been playing one of his most brilliant sets of all time. Someone had been recording it to DAT / minidisc and when he found out about it he requested them so there were no copies around. When the people refused he pretty much told them to off and threw all the equipment into the pool.

my answer was "all major record stores" actually.
i give out (through my wonderful assistant lisa) plenty of free cd's as anyone can attest.
its all about how you ask someone. if they want to book me then they shouldn't need a promo cd now should they?.
"hi we want to book you but have no idea what you sound like" haha
either way catch anyone on a bad night and yes, they will rub you the wrong way

to be fair thats really not the right way to go about things. if i was max i probs would have done the same thing. Like Max said if they wanted to book him then why would they need a promo cd? |

everyone is a promoter, everyone throws great parties, everyone is a dj.
"do you have a free cd in your bag for me?"
i have a website, im easy to contact, my website has sets for download.
i dont know any serious promoters who walk up to dj's at gigs and ask them for promo cd's. that being said in the off chance these guys were the best promoters ever throwing the biggest parties ever then its my loss.
give me your card (as many many do) i pass it to lisa, lisa sends them a cd or links them to our downloadable sets. |

| yeah im sure all big djs get thousands of people coming up to them saying they are djs and promoters. after a while you'd start to take it all with a pinch of salt |
