I did not read the article, but it doesnt even say what she does. She could be a ing cook. Even if she isn't, I'm sure it was no emergency. It's not like she was underfire, and is going to call her son.
You automatically assume that someone in the military, doing their job, in iraq, is in an emergency situation. Well thats not the case in the least. You keep stating "IN IRAQ" like that means something. Like "OMFG IT WAS HIS MOM....IN IRAQWZ!!!!" She's just doing her ing job. I am a 90% chance that she was in no danger whatsoever at the time she made the phone call. At best she might have been endangering some civilians or something. |

I'm currently attending college and I don't even pick up the phone when a parent is calling during class. That's just being rude. If it was an emergency, multiple people would be contacting you OR there'd be multiple attempts at contacting you. This entire situation could have worked out if the mother was able to talk to the kid on the phone through the school's line. |

| The kid got suspended for kicking up a fuss and no doubt using abusive language and behaviour towards a teacher. That deserves a suspension. If he'd explained in a civilised manner that it was his mother who happened to be in Iraq and didn't get the opportunity to call hime very often, I'm sure they would've bent the rules for him. But the youth of today have no respect for authority, so he got what he deserved. |

You assume the teacher was aware of his situation. You should not do that.
On the topic of a lawsuit, yeah, it might turn into one, considering how ed up your legal system is. Of course Canada's has gone to hell as well, but still... You have clutsy business men suing mcdonals when they spill their coffee on their lap while they were trying to balance coffee in one hand, a cellphone in the other, and steer with thier teeth. Then you have his fat wife suing them because she just couldnt get enough of their xtra value menu. |

Smart move, in my opinion. That case is the reason why all the cups now have the "Hot contents" label. Made a load of money off THAT suit. :p |

if i was there i would of told him to turn the ing thing off...
i hate it when someone gets a call in the middle of a lecture... pisses me off more when they take like 1 minute to answer... first they have to check who it is... and then walk outside the class while still talking..
