When he flipped out, the possibility of having a conversation decreased. They didn't know what was going on. Did he really expect them to let him speak to her mother if he didn't tell them what the situation was and kept being rude? People would simply stop listening to him, unless he stated what was going on. The teacher is an authority, it's only natural that the teacher took that as some random lack of respect (although, by the time they acknowledged what the situation was, it would be only natural to forgive). |

he flipped out in the office. they knew what was going on. they knew he was talking to his mother. it should have ended there but they wanted to teach him a lesson he didnt need to learn. thats when he flipped out |
It should've ended there indeed. But:
| quote: | | The teacher says the confrontation happened in a hallway, not outside, and that Francois never said the call was with his mother. |
This is the part I don't get. Although the teacher could be lying so...
And according to the last line:
| quote: | | Parham said, however, that Francois' behavior at school has been "a chronic problem." |
Probably, in the end, Phil Raa is only right person in this story :p |

When I was in Iraq and called anyone they usually put up whatever they were doing and said "its a friend/relative in iraq" and whoever was around let them be.
I still would have skipped school and went to the beach if I was him. |

the son was NOT suspended for talking to her on the phone. He was suspennded based on the later actions as a result of the talking on the phone. If he had made wiser decisions, then he would still be in class.
long story short. He screwed uup, he pays for his decisions and should be very thankful he wasnt arrested. I assume there already was a precedent of such result, as it wouldnt be an option that was given. |
