Well, you started a thread, knowing it would probably spark a political debate. Yet you still have not provided any substantial argument as to why you hate America so much other than the fact that the army coincidentally called you during your attempt at intercourse. You had time to make this thread, people have time to comment. If you have the time to comment back, at least provide us with something that proves you aren't just a waste of our polluted air. :rolleyes: |

never said i wasnt a waste of this polluted air:wtf: ... jsut due to the fact that a good precentage of the laws are somewhat rediculous, government spending is beyond me SIG's(Special Interest Groups) take part in this govt. spending where we spent a few million to see the effects of fish drinking tequila in Alaska... the fact that selling drugs puts you in jail longer than murder, rape and probably bank robbery.:wtf: so there are a select few reasons off the top of my head. |

I actually agree with you on a lot of those points. Especially the last one (seeing as how I'm Libertarian). This thread should probably get moved over to the political discussion forum though before too long. My reason for still loving this country is the basis for which it was founded. I am still in love with the fundamental reason it was set up and I am not so easily swayed into being completely pessimisstic that it's going to hell in a handbasket. I look at it as in four years there WILL be someone new in the white house and you CAN impact it.
I'm not giving up just yet unless we start making giant leaps towards a theocratical autocracy or a socialistic governmental monopoly on the private business sector. |

I dont really have a problem with the government here at all, its how all governments work, they all want to be powerful or control something at somepoint so just live with it.
Will I defend this government? No. Why? I hate the people in this country. If you think about it, only the weaklings and the outcasts of other countries come to this one, thats the price of open arms to the rest of the world, we get the left overs from other countries. This country lacks uniformity, and is very weak in someways because of it.
Also the whole line about "defending our country so you can live this way" is a load of bull.
The United States has not had a major foreign invasion in almost 200 years, and even then it was from the area we call Canada today! :wtf:
Unless your thanking the people that fought in the revolution or the war of 1812, then yes, they directly defended the freedoms you have today (you can all thank my ancestors btw, my family has been in this country for over 300 years and served on the side of the revolution. ;)).
You can also thank the soldiers of World War II, which is the only war in the last 100 years that has seriously threatened the United States as a sovereign country.
The people of the United States should not have the expectation of gratitude put upon them by members of the current military, or vetrans that joined and served after 1945, as every war after that has been a war in smaller conflicts and have never had a sphere of influence that has directly affected the population of the United States.
If any thanks should be given though, it should be to the men and women that have served at the helm of our nuclear triad. The only threat to the United States directly (besides terrorists, but its not like they are going to invade and inslave us or destroy us all :rolleyes: ) has been a full scale nuclear war, in which no side would have won.
So I will extend my thanks to them, the people in the boomers in the north sea, the men and women sitting 100 feet below the ground in Montana, Wyoming and the Dakotas and the pilots that will fly their crafts to foreign cities and rain fire hotter than the sun down on our enemies cities. Along with them, I would thank the same people that do the same thing for our enemies, as with out a threat of instant retaliation our country would have waged massive war without thought. So I would like to thank the brothers and sisters of those men and women in our nuclear forces that serve in China, the Russian Federation, and to a lesser extent France and the UK.
These are the men and women that protect our ways of life. The grunts on the ground... they just believe they do. :toothless

All this has nothing to do with a loser interrupting sex for a phone call from a recruiter or anyone else BTW.
